Is this a normal Sheltie nose?

Puppies are born with a pink nose, usually as they age the pigment fills in to black. However some times with sable they develop "snow nose". I have one with it and so does Randi's Bailey where in the winter the pigment lightens to a light color.

Now with that said no sure how good the breeder is that they are advertising on puppyfind...

This is how F-kap's nose is. I can't recall how good of breeders he came from, but they must have had a good reputation considering his grandsire was in a Shetland Sheepdog book. Just 3 months ago his nose was black, now look at it!

I wondered about the same when the breeder showed me a picture of Sammy when I made the reservation, but was told they were born that way and the nose will eventually turn black.

I figured it out.. It was an advertisement for puppy find on cornerstone shelties! Lol

The only way would be if they were advertising on it for it to be on the pic...but anyway I myself prefer a good breeder to have dogs titled or atleast compete in venues and to know what they are breeding towards instead of using dogs for a source of income.

I like to see noses filled in by 8 weeks, even in AOCs. I figure if a puppy can't make pigment, which is a basic body function, what else doesn't work?

Do I have any actual reason for thinking this? No.

But yes, sometimes it takes a while for it to fill in, especially in winter. No worries.

I would say it is "normal" It will probably change as she gets older.
