Why is it so hard to follow simple rules and have respect for others ???
When you move into my complex you sign a pet contract one of the things on this contract states all dogs will kept on a leash no longer than 6 ft. long.
Not so hard to understand. When I moved in my dog Lacey was 13 and never walked on a leash except to go to the vet. I moved in here and she walked on a leash until she went to Rainbow Bridge
Let me start by saying Chandler had an off leash pit come running across the park when he was 3 and pick him up like a ragdoll. Luckily The dog released him quickly when I kicked it and screamed at the top of my lungs to scare him off.
Chandler was not hurt physically but the mental scars remain and he is now leash aggressive. When Gypsy was young a Boxer and Lab Came running towards her and knocked into her so hard they knocked her knee cap completely out. We think she possibly already was predisposed to luxcating patella but this knocked her knee cap completely out and she than required surgery. She is also leash aggressive now.
So back to off-leash. This morning I am walking the dogs and going past one of the exit doors, Gypsy pauses so I know someone is ready to come out the door. I try to keep walking and scoot them past but too late, out of the door comes flying Foxie their nemesis off leash charging right into their faces barking agressively the owner just looks at me and says sorry. Are you kidding me? His dog has come after Chandler and Gypsy on several occasions. Than we have the Rottie who's owner just opens the door and the dog is 20 car lengths ahead of him crossing back and forth over the parking lot so Gypsy and Chandler really react to him because they have to watch all angles. Oh and the neighbor who's door is straight across from the elevator only about 3-4 ft. If the elevator door opens and we are in it and she is bringing Shelby out of the apt Shelby the Lab charges straight into the elevator barking at them. Pretty scary for 2 little shelties confined in there. I can't take it any more especially with Chandler being sick and Gypsy with her skin condition They don't need the added stress. The list goes on of the owners here who have no consideration for others so far this week four run ins. I have talked to the complex on several occasions letters have been sent out and nothing has improved. Does any one have any suggestions besides moving. I've been here since the complex was built and have a great relationship with the owner and staff and am the longest resident here. I would hate to move as our complex is right beside the park and I don't want the additional expense all money is going toward Gypsy and Chandlers care. We just walk across the parking lot and the park is right there and the dogs love it and in the city it's the ideal location for a dog owner.
