Looking for Breeder in Southeastern Ontario

I have had five shelties in all right now on my 4th and 5th...and by far my male, my first male has been the most loving and Zoey my most loving girl so far and both from the same breeder. Zoey we got at 7 months and Zak at 8 weeks.
Keep in mind Sheltie do like to talk and some more than others. Best of luck on your search.

Can you check your user profile for a visitor message? I found some puppies and I know one if the breeders. I will leave my email for you.

Finding a reputable sheltie breeder is always a challenge! In my experience, I had a lot of difficulty finding Sheltie rescues in Eastern Ontario, but you might do better in your neck of the woods.

I think I read that you are too new to be able to PM. But if you provide me with an email address, I would be happy to point you to some really good breeders in Eastern Ontario.

Cheers
Barb

What are your thoughts on the ear training?

You don't mean the ear-pinching methods used for gun dogs to drop something? It's dangerous to use this with Shelties, they are a smart breed and very sensitive so any harsh methods can shut them down and make it harder for them to learn.

No that is definitely not the ear training I'm talking about. I'm talking about getting the tipped ears that most breeders practise

Thank you all for being ISO helpful. I'm just waiting for my PM to work so I can get some recommendations. Prefer not to use my email.

When you are able to pm, I have a list of really good breeders in the GTA, Hamilton Guelph areas. A couple I know have puppies available.

Thank god you did not mean it, I nearly had a heart attack.

About the ears - If you do not want to have an show dog, then it's something you decide.
But try to search here in the forum, there are many threads which deals precisely with this, and many, many different opinions, ranging from the extreme, a little blob on the edge of the ear (which I definitely think is the limit I will inflict my puppy)
