Marty is limping - causes?

Did they check the front elbows as well as the hips? Tully went undiagnosed with an Ortho vet because she wasn't checking the right part of the body - the Ortho vet thought it was the shoulders but turned out it was a badly deformed hip, Deska similarly was missed for years with having elbow dysplasia. If they are checking one joint always make sure they check them all - their gait may not reflect where they are hurting.

Being we weren’t allowed in the examine room, I’m really not sure? I don’t know why it would be rotating to different limps though if it were his elbows? Thank you Caro for your thoughts.

We took Mr. Marty in for bloodwork this morning. We did a complete panel on him to have a “baseline” going forward. He’s just under 2 year’s old. We also added a full Lyme panel. Lyme is not prevalent in our area at all, but you never know and we felt better having it ruled out completely without any doubt.

Update: Marty’s bloodwork came back showing “Negative” to Lyme and other tick related diseases (we did the full panel). Complete panel came back great. We stopped Meloxicam as of Sunday in prep for Friday’s recheck appointment with the ortho and Neuro doctors. Paws and fingers crossed we figure this thing out, please. Next step will either be the bone scan or another regular x-ray (which would be sooner since bone scan won’t be able to happen for about six weeks). Meanwhile, he’s doing well.

Terri, that is good that the bloodwork ruled out anything wrong including any tick borne disease. Now hopefully x-rays and/or bone scan can give you a positive answer. In the meantime I am glad Marty seems to be doing well. If this is pano it could be self resolving already. Simba's bouts (4 in all) with pano sometimes were many weeks long and at other time much shorter. Keep us posted as things move along and we will all be keeping Marty and you in our thoughts for a good outcome whatever is going on.

Thank you so much! Did Simba limp all the time when he had his bouts, or was it sporadic throughout the day?
