Hey folks watch yer paws! We have 1° right now 4:50pm in Michigan and supposed to be getting colder with wind gusts to 45mpr. Windchill tonight is down around -20° ! ! Dog's paws really cannot handle temps like that for very long unless they've been toughened up to it.
Mind yer furkids! Keep an eye on them when they are outside! :eek2:

once the temp gets (-) anything, it ain't weather fit for man or beast. I like snow and winter, but I detest FREEZING We defrosted here in the Rocky Mts, and that was wonderful...stay warm!!!!

We have had subzero mornings and nights for I think going on 4 days. The only one that is not that effected is Celtic but he barely stops moving. Justice says this is for the birds.

I am thinking today is the perfect day to try out my jar of paw protector cream! I don't want any frozen tootsies.

Jo is that like a "Musher's Wax"? I've not seen any of that stuff either but it always intrigued me that a type of wax application might protect a dogs paws at lower temps.

It is well below freezing here too. It is out to potty and right back in the house we really need to get out for a walk.

It must be cold, Shelby is laying on the chair next to the fire place this is a dog that gives us the stink eye when we turn the heat on in the fall.

It's in the negatives here too, it's out and right back in. I'm a little worried though tonight, Koffoy didn't seem his usual self, he was much more a cuddle bug which is not like him. He is usually wanting to play ball or tug or toss of some sort. Seems okay, checked his paws several times and those look okay. Don't know there is something wrong or if he (at 2 1/2) is now picking up on when I am not feeling well.

Anyway, keep a close eye on those fur babes.

Bailey had a case of cold limpy paws this morning. It was about 8 degrees with a -15 windchill when I walked her in the morning. I rubbed Musher's Wax on her paws before we left to protect them from the elements.

I was hoping it would be a quick potty walk and run back to the house. However, Bailey had other plans. She took forever to do her business (stupid cold weather gave her stage fright ). Every 3 mins she would limp, so I had to use my gloves to wipe & warm up her paws. After begging, pleading and bribing (I think I owe her a filet mignon), she finally went after 15+ mins. :rolleyes2:

Brrrrrr. My windchill was -27 this morning...wow. The dogs made a record potty stop this morning...approx 30 seconds!
