My baby girl has kidney failure Please help!!!

we just put our baby into the vet yesterday and they said it is not good, her bloodwork is very bad, they said it was kidney failure...they are trying her on fluids and a couple pills (can't remember what, was too busy crying) but she was basically saying not to get our hopes up basically which I found really hurtful ... I asked what the percentage is and she said about 10% chance it will help her. I am losing my mind with grief, we have been together for 15 years, I just want her home again :((((((
Does anyone at ALL have any ideas or positive stories to tell to give me some hope that we can get more time with her??? We will be getting a call today to see what's going on. If this is it, I want her out of there and to take her to the beach one last time as she loved it there, her favorite place, and get her some balloons, her favorite toy and just hug her. I am just LOST right now :(((((

I can't offer anything other than sending positive thoughts to you, as thankfully this is not something I have experience of. However, this is a good place to come to get advice and support.
Hope it works out for you both.

I am sorrier than I can say. I know how it must have hurt to hear that her chances are slim -- honesty can be so painful. I'll pray that medications will help. And I think your plan to take Cinnamon to the beach is splendid.

I'm sorry Cinnamon isn't doing well. I lost a dog to kidney failure prior to bringing my Sheltie home. She was about the same age as your little girl.

I'm sorry for the heartache you are going through, we've all been there at one point of time.

So sorry to hear Cinnamon is ill. Both of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Please continue to update us. Thanks.

I don't have any advice to give. All I have is my hugs to you and your pup.

15 years is a very healthy age for Shelties though, if that is any consolation.

Sending Sheltie prayers to both of you!

I'm sorry to here about your pup. My girl is 4yrs. and has Kidney disease. I am just learning about it and she started on Sub Q fluids daily at home last week. Do you know any of the numbers from her tests? there is a group on Yahoo. K9kidneys. they ask some questions before you can join but it is worth it to read through all the info and experience they have accumulated through the years.

Praying she pulls through so you have more time with her.

I am sorry to hear about your little girl.

Keep the faith. Kidney disease is unpredictable. Yes the odds are against her but I had patients I didn't think would turn around do just that. One was in flat out failure and she responded and went on to have 2 more good quality years. All you can do is try.

Sending good thoughts and prayers.
