I just saw these items in an email and thought I'd share.

A new form: https://images.akc.org/pdf/events/agility/AEAGL2.pdf
It's about time they made it so you can fill it in. Granted, I created a form myself long time ago, but nice to see they've updated it a bit.

Excellent A and B is gone. Now there's Excellent and Master.
(from the email) The biggest change is that AKC has changed "Excellent A" class to just "Excellent" and "Excellent B" is now "Master." Here's what that means. When a dog is working on their AX or AXJ or XF... they would enter the "Excellent" class for those divisions (Standard, JWW, FAST). Once a dog has achieved one of those titles, they move to "Master" in that division, indicating they are working on their master titles (MX, MXJ or MXF).

I didn't know that. Good to know.

And the last bit, you will be able to move laterally from Regular to Preferred. Which means, no starting over. May not happen Jan 1, but soon.

That it is awesome. I have wanted to put Ember in preferred but didn't want to start over. 5 secs, lower A frame and 8" jumps would be awesome for her. I will be looking for that change and hope it is something I would want to do.:smile2:

Hey, I thought she's been running faster. ;)

I was thinking of running Preferred for fun just to get us back into it and to refocus on the fun part, not the Q's. Especially since I knew I'd have to start over, but now......maybe not.

THIS makes me happy!

With Edan being 6 years old and only 14 1/2 inches I've been contemplating pulling him out of AKC after he finishes his Excellent A title. Simply put - I didn't want my little boy jumping 16 inches and compromise his joints.

I flat out refused to start over at Novice Preferred because I already felt I'd proven Edan could run Novice, Open and Ex A at a higher jump height and shorter time.

With this rule change, I can drop Edan down to Preferred and not have to start all over again! Yeah! I can actually try for the PACH (instead of a MACH) title.

Interesting... so will Excellent and Master still run the same course like Excellent A & B do now? Or will Master be a different, more difficult course?

She has been running faster but she is still not a speed burner. She has 3 MXJ and 1 MX leg and 4 MACH points what does that tell you. She will be 8 yrs old next spring and will not likely get faster.

You're welcome. :wink2:

It's distinctly possible that someone on this board had a direct hand in that new form. It's also possible that I didn't get everything I wanted, but I got some of it. The base of the form was designed by myself and with ZeeMarie from Nevada.

What I lost was the repetitive class listing (Regular/Preferred), which I think is a huge waste of space. What I got was a cleaner form, and all of the dogs information in one place!

Master/Excellent will still be the same course, they just renamed Excellent B to Master.

PS: The AKC has always had fillable forms, you just have to know where to get them. OR use the MYAKC feature of the website to have them fill out the form for you. OR use labtestedonline.com to have her fill out the form, with trial information for you. Lots of solutions for the lazy (like me!)

There has also always been oaklines entries for forms to fill out entries. It also saves all of your dogs data so no having to go back through and enter it every time. Just change the entry fee, dates, and club name.
My friend is slightly upset. Her BC needed to be dropped to preferred for joint problems and has spent the last year getting back to excellent b. She feels like she just threw all of that money away for no reason

Well then. Thank you! I appreciate it. I did have a fillable form, but I like this one so much better (the top portion).
