No puppy for me from this breeder, referred to another one

I kinda knew this could happen, I never asked how many buyers were ahead of me, maybe I should have. There are four puppies, I was fifth in line. The breeder referred me to her friend, they co own dogs. This breeder has 3 litters due. I am calling her this afternoon, she's in Maine, 4 hours from me. Yes, I did get my hopes up. Maybe getting a pup in mid May would be too hard as I would still have 6 weeks of work. Still, it is a disappointment and I'm feeling a bit grumpy.
 
Awww I'm sorry Karen, I can understand how disappointing that must be!

Fingers crossed :fl that the other breeder will have a pup for you!
Like you said the timing of this one wouldn't have been great but still you get your hopes up.
All things happen for a reason I believe and perhaps you were meant to get one from this other breeder.

I'd be calling now...why wait until the afternoon:biggrin2:?

I do get your disappointment, but will say to you what my husband keeps saying to me - we'd never have Brodie if the first pup I wanted had worked out. He was not on board with that one, that one not happening opened the door to Brodie's breeder.

When one door closes, another opens - your puppy is out there - this one wasn't it - your puppy is somewhere in your future waiting for you to catch up!

(Hugs!) I know I cried alot, but the wait was well worth it! I hope the same for you!

Thanks. I was very concerned about getting the pup in mid-May, having to go back to work five days after bringing it home, and then having to work for five more weeks after that. I'm 61 years old, and this has been a difficult school year, the kids have been horrible. Maybe this way it will come at a more convenient time.

Oh yes...I had tears, anger and frustration when the breeder couldn't pick a girl and I then had to pick a boy! But I ended up with the sweetest most loving social butterfly ever.

When Piper was about 9 months old I took him to a local garden center and a gentleman struck up a conversation with me and asked if I was showing him. I told him no, as he has lance canines. His response was 'waste of money then'...I thought you jerk (insert more bad language)...
Everything does happen for a reason. Love love love my boy!
 
Kind of had the same thing happen - hubby (who was a cat person) did not really want a "small" dog, so we missed out on a really cute tri girl (this is 30 years ago - gulp!) then we saw a breeder with an adolescent colorheaded white and a bedraggled looking puppy - I did NOT feel good about that situation so we said no, thanks. And then, I saw the newspaper ad for Skye's litter and the rest was history. We said we wanted a sable girl on the larger side and she had two. I knew Skye was the one in about 10 seconds (took hubby a little longer, LOL), and Karen, we thanked our lucky stars. She was the BEST DOG EVER.

This wasn't meant to be but your pup is out there! I know you are disappointed; you've been so excited, but hang onto the thought that there is a reason for this happening. :hugs
