People with only 1 dog must be so bored

I have decided people with only 1 dog are missing out on so much free entertainment. My house has become a zoo since I added my 4th dog. It isn't really a bad thing but the blending of the oh so different temperments is interesting.

Last night I was laying on the bed reading. Justice was laying behind me against my back, Ember was laying on my feet and Diva and Birch were running around the room playing with a stuffed quail and wrestling.

The 2 crazy dogs come ripping up onto the bed. Birch(stuffed toy in mouth) followed but Diva. Now Birch is just getting good about jumping onto the bed but he doesn't have the fine tuning down so he can't stop and hops over me and lands almost on Ember who goes crazy b***h on him. Diva scatters and Birch hops back over me and plops down in front of my chest hoping I am going to protect him from the crazy blue dog. I ignore them but Birch decides he can snuggle a little and rolls back against me. So I put my arm around him and continue reading.

Diva now alone jumps onto the bed and stares at Birch. Then she starts pawing at my leg and then tries to push her body between Birch and me. I tell her to lay down which she does for about 30 seconds at which point she stands up and stares at me. I ignore her so she jumps down and starts running around the room and then back up onto the bed and continues to stare. No response again so she jumps down grabs the stuffed quail and begans to beat the living daylights out of it. :pop

Birch can't stand it so he jumps down to play with Diva who immediately jumps up and takes his spot on the bed. Birch ticked off he was tricked jumps back up onto the bed, again misjudges the landing and hops over me onto Ember who roars at him again:rolleyes2: Justice at this point leans back and puts his head on my shoulder I turn and look at him and I swear he is sighing like can't you take care of this drama.

No one can say my house is boring.

My girls definitely keep me entertained. I love it when they play and they do not think anyone is looking.

Their favorite game is to run a big circle around the playhouse cutting turns with nearly centimeters between them and the fence. This game gets oh so entertaining when there is an 8 month old super clumsy Irish Setter puppy on their tails that cannot make the turns and ends up crashing, falling, and rolling from impact. The Shelties laugh. Really, I see them actually trotting around laughing at the poor IS puppy :rolleyes2:

I am still amazed you could read

Thankfully the bed is WAY to high for Spitfire to even consider jumping up still.

Sounds like my house with Liam and Natters. They are my crazy two. Emma doesn't like her on the bed at night and early this morning my fingers got grabbed when Emma snapped at her.

Sigh - life is definitely not boring in a multi-dog house. I can just see the look Justice gave you.

We currently have two and in about 7 weeks will adding our third, a male merle we have already named MacGreggor. Am not sure how our girls are going to like having a little brother in the house. When I am in bed Miss Saddie likes to sleep up by my head. Miss Maddie like to tease her by jumping on the bed first and taking her spot on the pillows. Then here comes Miss Saddie and gives her the stink eye. If that doesn't work she will stand and growl until Maddie has had enough and moves to the foot of the bed. Wonder where MacGreggor will fit in this mix??

Yes, I, too, know the joy of four Shelties on the bed. Annie Laurie, Hall Monitor to the World, manages positioning. Beckon tromps around like he's the ship captain, then steeles down to nibble my sleeve. Bits only lasts 10 minutes before she's too hot. Layla moves to the "porch," Annie's hope chest at the foot of the bed. (Yes, my DH bought Annie a cherry hope chest to match the bed. He also built little stairs so she can climb onto her chest, then onto the bed.) Then Annie gets tired of everyone on HER bed, so she jumps up and barks wildly. Everyone flies off the bed -- except Annie, who smugly lays back down, now having Mom, Dad and bed all to herself. :pop
