Well, trying not to repeat myself but I posted more on this on the Dremmel Stylus 1100 thread.
I used the Peticure and found it very inefficient. I actually found the guard, intended to not trap hair, actually trapped it more. It was also large and clumsy and I never really felt like I had control of it, plus it was slow and generated alot of heat, which required me to have to go over each paw at least 3 or 4 times.
Then I got the Dremmel Stylus.
I always do a quick trim of pups' feet first. It just makes it easier to see what you are doing. But even if you don't trim first, its easy enough to push the fur aside.
The advantage of the Stylus is that its cordless and very compact. It fits nicely in your hand, and is ergonomically designed to be held in a variety of positions - upside down, sideways, etc. - which means that you really can easily round out the nails with no sharp edges.
The dremmel is also great if the quick has grown out and you need to work it back. No drastic nail cutting. Because of the ability to round out, you can gradually work the quick back all around.
That being said, if your pup tolerates clipping, then more power to you! It is faster than dremmeling for sure. So if it works for you, keep at it.
Bacca won't tolerate clipping even though I acquainted him from the start to having his nails done.
