Puppy Dreams

So, I noticed that Duncan makes this little sucking noise when he sleeps. I'm not sure if it is a suckle or if he's sucking on his tongue (I have a niece who used to do that...). While he's doing this, his paws will waggle a little. He also alternates his naps between all the blankets and pillows and just the plain floor.

Pierre, on the other hand, loves pillows and anything soft. Every now and then, he makes little disturbed squeaks like he's being chased in his dreams.

What quirks do your puppers have while they sleep?

Both mine run in their sleep alot - their little paws waggle away. Deska also "ruff, ruff, ruff"s in his sleep. But the funniest thing is sometimes Tully howls in her sleep and let me tell you in the middle of the night to hear her little wail - wakes me up with a start!

That is too funny! I can just imagine being woken up to howling! I have not noticed any quirks with my two yet. They seem to sleep soundly and quietly - either that or I am just a very heavy sleeper :sleepy::rolleyes2:

Haha! What a timely topic. I was woken up this morning by funny soft slightly whiny noises coming from Romeo. I thought he wasn't feeling well and got up and stared at him for awhile (during which time he was quietly sleeping). I've not heard him make noises before in his sleep. He must really like whatever he's dreaming about because he refused to get up from my bed and leave the airconditioned comfort to send me off to work this morning!

haha..too funny!!
Glad mine don't howl..LOL

Abby moans and groans alot in her sleep. Clancy "swims" atleast thats what it looks like..the front paws are just paddleing for all their worth..hehe

Abby likes to sleep on a rug or pillow..Clancy perfers the hard cold floor and alot of the time right in front of the door..he must be hot stuff!! haha

McKinley sleeps on his back when he is on the bed, which I find rather odd and almost disturbing, for I have never had a dog do this before.

Just in the last day or two, when he is on the floor, he sleeps curled up in a tight little ball with his tail tucked over his nose. Ron laughes at me, because I think he is cold, so I take his crate blanket and lay it over him, but we have noticed that he opens up a bit and does not crawl out from underneath it, so maybe he really is cold.

His little paws move alot while he is sleeping. He's not verbal though at sleep, thank goodness! He talks enough when he is awake!

Both of mine will sleep on their backs, too! I thought it was just a Pierre thing, but I've found Duncan doing it if he's on something really soft. Right now, they are having naps... Pierre on the edge of the ottoman with his back legs hanging off (not that there isn't a ton of other room for him to stretch out on) and his head next to a pillow. Duncan is sprawled out on the floor in exhausted puppy fashion. They got done with a game of keep-away and Duncan did his first Sheltie zoomies!! He sure must be tuckered out...

Laika sleeps in a ball (looks like a fox) with her nose tucked in her tail. In the summer she stretches out though, she is the whiner. She will bark and cry loud enough to wake me up at night. Lately she has started some snoring (getting old I guess).

Never a peep from Aztec, no movement...he is a really sound sleeper.

Bailey doesn't move too much in her sleep. Sometimes I see her paws twitching. She usually sleep on her side, with one foot and her tail sticking out her crate. Every once in a while she will flip over and sleep on her back with all 4 legs sticking up in the air.
