Puppy Height and Weight

I don't have heights, but I do have weights for Bacca, who at 21 months is at, I think, 17" - give or take. Long in body, but not overweight.

12.5 weeks - 8.6 pounds
15.5 weeks - 11 pounds
9.5 months - 23 pounds
13 months - 27 1/3 pounds
20 months - 27 1/2 pounds

so you can see that he pretty much stopped growing between 10 and 13 months.

I think he could stand to lose a few pounds, but not much more than that.

I will try to measure Sandstorm, all I know is he is 6 months old and 23.5 lbs!! He also has a wiggly furry butt, hence the nickname "Silly Butt"
It seems that there is a great deal of variation on size and weight. :confused2:I didn't want a show dog anyway, his ears don't tip either, the left one sometimes.

Cranberry saw the vet today- more shots- he didn't seem to notice the pointy things :wink2:
so at 10 weeks, 8.2 lbs and ~10.5"

Here's today's weigh in and height:

Emma - 16.5" - 25 lbs - 5.5 years old
Sasha - 13.25" - 20 lbs - 3.75 years old
Newton - 12.5" - 10 lbs - 20 months old
Sapphire - 10" - 6 lbs - 10 weeks old
Pearl - 9.5" - 5.5 lbs - 10 weeks old
Holly - 9.5" - 5.5 lbs - 10 weeks old

WOW the puppies are already passing newton!!

Well, they aren't passing him yet...but they will.
And when they all 3 gang up on him they do take him down.

Then is keely underweight?

She weighed in yesterday at 16.5 lbs. @ 11 months She is smaller then my other shelties but not that much! I have not measured her ht at this point yet. Should I be worried?

The one thing that holds true about sheltie weight is that there is no magic number. Some dogs can be the exact same height, but be built totally differently and weigh different amounts.

The height of the dog plays a role, so does its length, amount of bone, etc...

16.5 lbs at 11 months doesn't sound too small. My dog is 18 lbs now at 2 years old.
