sheltin's more out of his shell!!
Well, before starting a debate/argument over training methods
Sheltin's doing great!
this a.m. I woke up and saw Sheltin peeking in our bedroom.
I put my hand down and he walked by so I could pet him without using 'here' nor a redirect of his leash.
He's confidently walking through our house, well much better only a little scared, but will walk by me and Barbi and let us pet him without dropping to his side or submissive!!
He still hangs his head a bit when he approaches, but doesn't run the other way.
still great progress with the use of pads when we aren't home to take him out.
Still walks on his leash and does go relieve himself outside.
but, still a bit of work with his 'scaredy pup' behavior towards other people and loud noises.
Every once in a while he will run behind me and bump my leg when I walk from room to room too, then run the other way when I look at him as if saying , 'I didn't do anything...' so he's getting more playful.
and he's certainly not afraid to let the cat know he wants to (or doesn't want to) play too.
Lots and Lots and LOTS of socialization ahead for this guy.
Barbi and I are planning on a training class in June for him too now that he will walk with us.
oh, yeh, he's still weary of eating food from hands. working on that too...
I will upload a few pics of him to my photobucket to add.
I have several of him on my phone but don't yet have a card to move them to so I can add them on my camera...
a funny note, if I can get the pic... while on a walk, I stopped by a hydrant for him and he decided that was his 'nap spot' lol
but definitely improvements. not as bad as I thought things were going to be. I just waited too long to get him started too...
