Shaded sable with raccoon eyes

One of the many things to love about shelties, to me, are their markings and how they give each dog a unique look and expression.
 
Sorry, I don't know how to post multiple pictures at once! Here is a recent picture of Sammi, she is just a bit over 6 months old. I had her fur trimmed recently when she went to the groomer. The 2nd picture was taken when Sammi was 8 weeks old.

If one is using the DNA test that looks for breeds of dogs, then the results can be very suspect. I would not be willing to hang my hat on any results until that testing gets better. Some friends of mine recently had it done. It was so far off they demanded their money back from the company and got it!
 
Hi, I haven't seen Sammi's parents because we got her from a very small pet store. She came with papers that listed her parents and both parents owner's names on the papers. Papers also said she was sable. The papers said she was ACA registered and at the time we didn't know what that meant (thought it meant or was the same as AKA) but it sounded good. We have since found out that it doesn't meant anything really, because a dog owner doesn't have to prove anything to have a dog registered with ACA. We assumed that Sammi must have been a puppy mill dog but were not sure. All we have are the parents names and owner/sellers name for both parents. I couldn't find anything out about them on the Internet. I wish I knew how to track her parents to get pictures of them.
She s a great dog, however, and we love her!
 
My Olive has similar markings, it will be interesting to see how they change as she ages (she's roughly 1 now). Since she was a stray we're not sure about her heritage- shelter said X but rescue says pure. DH's aunt insists she has BC in her, but I think she just has a flat-er puppy coat and is taking awhile to find her voice.

Thanks, I will post some new pictures as she gets older. Your sheltie Sally is a cute dog too! When I saw your Sally's pictures, I wondered if that's what my Sammi may look like when gets a little older.
I don't know about your sheltie, but mine sure loves to bark!
