Shampoo Recs?

As everybody else has said - watch out for over cleaning your dog. I thought my dog had allergies, but it turned out to be dry skin from too many baths (it couldn't be helped though). Dry skin can cause hot spots.

I've only personally bathed Smudge twice. Both times were with a shampoo I got at PetSmart. It was called Fluffy Puppy. It did make his puppy fur feel nice.

Fluffy got to use the Plush Puppy Primrose shampoo. I could not smell it at all when I used it. I honestly couldn't tell that it did anything crazy good except clean her fur. I have, however, tried other Plush Puppy products and really liked them.

Both sites have really great stuff. :yes: I really love that Puffy Dog that Plush Puppy makes! Smudge's ruff felt nice, soft, and puffy! Ice on Ice is a must have as well. I don't know how I ever lived without it!

Vibrant Pets is also a great supplement that makes your dog's fur feel nice. I use the Show Dog Formula:

I was just putting in an order for more seabreeze oil - now I'll have to try the Puffy Dog!

Now ask us what grooming products we humans use on ourselves - me for example, its whatever is on sale, gotta save pennies so the dogs look good!:lol:

I have the seal breeze oil. I bought a Plush Puppy spray bottle, and I am probably going to water the oil down some and then spray it. It does do a very nice job on Smudge's pants though!

Here's a picture of Smudge with the Puffy Dog. The "boxy" picture is before I really styled it. I thought the "boxy" look was hysterical.

I have an after picture, but it's covered up with his Christmas jester collar. :uhoh: Take my word for it though - it makes it look nice.

I'm a "human hair" snob. I admit I refuse to buy Wal-Mart or drug store brands. I only use Redken and sometimes Biolage when I have dandruff. Most other shampoos have the waxy feel, and I hate waxy shampoo. :dead:
 
Man, once again my Meggie is deprived. She's 20 months old and has been professionally groomed twice. I bathed her once as a pup and once when she had loose stools, but beyond that she gets brushed with simple tap water. I do brush her at least once per week, sometimes twice. She has this coat that seems to repel dirt and snow though. She just shakes and everything is gone.

Looking at Meggie's coat, I don't think she is deprived.:smile2: She has fabulous coat.
 
You know, everyone I know told me that she was going to be hard to care for, grooming wise, but I have found her to be quite easy. She was 15 weeks when I got her and her breeder had already started grooming and nail grinding so she was somewhat used to it. I do spend some time brushing her, but it's bonding time for me and I just love on her in the process. She's pretty laid back, so not much bothers her. I'm lucky in that respect.

Even though she may not be of show quality, she's beautiful to me.
