Shelties are like potato chips, one is never enough

I could just cry! I am so happy to hear that you're opening your home to her. She certainly has endured so much, and is still a happy girl. That speaks volumes about her character. I can't wait to see her settling in with you, Cooper, and Meggie.

And that picture with the sock is too cute!
 
Wow, what a heartwarming story-- that is your determination to pursue this adoption and to make it happen. She looks like a playful soul. What a lovely ending to such a horrific chapter in this girl's life.
 
I am SO happy for you and Dottie... I too wondered who would adopt a dog with health issues like that, even tho she isn't old. BLESS YOU for adopting her. This falls into the "it must be fate" category, since the transport issue just fell into your lap. It's awfully nice of your friends to offer to drive her back with them. Just make sure they know how easy it is for Shelties to panic and escape so they are extra cautious in the transfer.

I really look forward to hearing all about her when she's happily settled in your home.

What an unfortunate start for this pup.But I know things happen for a reson,and we are so glad she is home with you.

Thank you everyone for all your kind thoughts for my new little girl. I can't wait to meet her!!! And yes, I will email my friends and let them know to be extra careful as Shelties can get spooked.

Today I bought her a beautiful bed at T.J. Maxx. I put it right next to my bed in anticipation. The lady at the rescue said I should not put her in bed with me because she could try to jump down and hurt herself. The fact that she can't be in bed with us makes me sad, I hope she doesn't feel left out. Cooper does not try to jump down. I think his vision makes it difficult for him to determine how far the floor really is. But he waits patiently for Mommy to lift him off the bed. And at night when I put him on the bed we have our personal cuddle time when I pick him up. He lays his head on my shoulder and I hug him and rub his back before I put him on the bed. I'll do the same for little Dollie and then put her on her bed.

I also bought the little sock thief a sock monkey with a squeaker in it. :smile2:
 
I've seen doggie ramps so older dogs can walk up to your bed and not feel left out :)

can't wait to see all the pictures when she comes home!

I'm so happy that you're adopting her! Her sweet face on sheltie nation melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Her expression reminded me of my sweet Sadie.

Those other photos are so cute and I just LOVE the one of the sock hanging out of her mouth. That type of guilty expression makes me laugh every time! Love the photo of her playing with the puppy, what a sweet, patient girl. :smile2:
