Sir Baron Von Trapp~aka Trapp

Well thank you! I have always had fond memories of the Sound of Music.I could watch it over & over.I actually have a CD of the grandchildren of the Von Trapps.

So it just seemed to kind of fit together.
 
Trapp is very cute. Love the name.

Ember used to chase her tail alot as a pup if she got really excited. She wonuld catch it too. She is 4 now and rarely does it,only when I'm talking to someone and she has been standing there too long. Its like she's bored and its her signal to me that it time to do something else.

O my goodness! Yep he really since yesterday had a real fasination with his tail.

He's all tuckered out here with me on the couch. As he has spent the better half of the afternoon outside,as I was doing some serious raking.He herded the rake,as best he could. But after a bit,he realized that somehow ,my legs were making the rake move.So he just had fun trying to catch my legs.

How does the AKC naming work? In Aust dogs are registered by the breeder so already come with their registered names - owners just give them a call name that may or not be based on their registered names. Do you get to pick the name - and do they also keep a kennel prefix?
 
Some breeder name their dogs some don't. Some require that their kennel name be the first part of the name,some don't. AKC gives you I think 30 or 32 letters you can get more for a fee. If the breeder doesn't have name requirement you can pick what you but I think it can't be have champion in it or be vulgar. If a dog all ready has that name in you breed they put a roman numeral after it ie buddy VII.
 
I like that name!! Trapp is so cute in his pic with the cat. True is doing great...I promise to post pics/details as soon as things settle down with the family and Dakota.
 
Well,now you just take care of your family,using the camera,should be the last thing you need to worry about. I'm sure it's quite comforting to have True visit Dakota.Dogs have a way of comforting,whether it ibe human or thier own.

I think the breeder's name is always part of the name, but I could be wrong.

Bacca was not registered formally until I named him, but was registered by his breeder. I'm not even sure if I could have registered him if she did not do so. So he is officially "Ruffleith's Chewbacca" (I know, silly name! But he's not the only registered Sheltie Chewbacca out there!)
