So much has happened since the last Face Behind the Name thread so I'm gonna post here too.

Hola to all! I'm Michelle from Singapore, a tiny island in Southeast Asia. Lived here all my life except for 3 years in Leeds, UK where I attended university.

I've got 2 lovely sable white shelties, Romeo (2 yrs 7 months) and Juliet (10 months). I had one other sheltie, Lester, before them but he passed on several years ago at 16yrs of age.

I just got married recently! And was very happy to be able to have my 2 dogs as the ringbearers. Here's us together on our big day!

I've changed jobs recently (3 weeks ago) and am now legal counsel at HP in Singapore. I enjoy being a lawyer but would one day like to set up my own doggy daycare! I actually like the relaxed/rural lifestyle and would love to live on a farm.

I am also now vegan! I should have seen it coming really. I've always loved animals and as a child would defend little creatures and bring them home. I feel very strongly about animal abuse and I quit eating meat because of a video showing unnecessary abuse towards cows and pigs. I'm also trying to be more active in improving animal welfare here in Singapore and am helping the animal welfare groups in their anti puppymill campaign.

I’m Char, I work for an agency that has group homes for people with mental and physical disabilities; I do adaptive equipment types of things there. I grew up in a home where we were only allowed to have feathered pets, chickens and parakeets. When I got out on my own I had cats and never really wanted a dog. One Thanksgiving while at my brothers house I saw his new dog, a mixed breed that he had just adopted from a rescue. The dog was amazing, so well behaved and I thought that if I was ever to get a dog I would want it to be just like his. At Christmas time he called and said he was bringing over my Christmas present did I want it now? My brother is a big tease so I was pretty sure it was something I didn’t want. However it turned out that his dog seemed to have some sort of mental difficulties and would wander off and not know how to find its way home. He lives on a farm and we have a fenced in yard and he wanted to give us the dog that I had admired at Thanksgiving. We agreed and Misty is the most wonderful, kind, patient and laid back dog and we are blessed to have her. Growing up during the Lassie area I had always wanted a Lassie but they were too big so I decided maybe a Sheltie would do. When Misty was so wonderful I began to think maybe it was time for a Sheltie. We adopted Maddie from a Sheltie rescue in Ohio and just loved her, she was a such sweet little thing and not at all overly active. Later we adopted Louie from the same rescue and he was the opposite of Maddie, very barky and afraid of everything. Over the years we’ve learned how to just not do the things he didn’t like around him. Maddie died unexpectedly almost two years ago and we were heartbroken. Although Maddie wasn’t very loud the house seemed so quiet. So we purchased our first puppy ever, Meggie, she has been a real experience! She is a wild thing but we love her. Right now our little Louie is losing his fight with bladder cancer and I don’t know how long he will be with us, we are loving him every day and thankful for the time we still have with him.
