The impression I get is that Shelties seem to be good with kids in general. I was wondering on the stress thing also as any move has some stress. Good luck as she looks like a lovable pup.

This beautiful Sheltie has been really tugging on my heart!!! And of course (wouldn't ya know) she is in Kentucky where I am!!
I have researched DM extensively and then decided to call the rescue/foster Mom. I would love to meet Shelly and taking some time to think about it more. Her scars does not bother me at all!! To me, it makes her all the more special than she probably already is. Amazes me that some can not look past that.
My concerns (besides knowing I would fall in love with her if I get to meet her) are:
She has been with her foster Mom for a few yrs now; it seems that would be a very stressful situation for Shelly (and the Mom)? Wouldn't that confuse Shelly as if she lost yet another home?
I was told she has not had an outbreak in over 2 years (she is almost 7 yrs old); but if she did I would have no idea how to treat it since all of my research on Trental indicates it has been discontinued or hard to find. And if I could find it, I have not found what the cost may be?
I know that Sanofi-Aventis is the manufacture of Trental and actually surprised they would stop manufacturing the drug. I have a long history doing Pharma sales and this surprised me because Sanofi-Aventis has bought out SO many other pharma companies (leaving many reps without a job now to boot) that they would drop a med from their portfolio....unless of course it went generic from losing the patent.....but my understanding the generic doesn't work as well??
As some here may already know I have a Sheltie (2 yrs old) and 2 Chihuahua's (7 and 10 yrs old)....I was told Shelly does well with other dogs and has been around kids around the age of 7 or 8 and did fine wanting to play with them. I have a grandson 4 yrs old.....wondering if that would be a problem?
Guess i am just struggling with a decision here...any advice? Cuz I know I would be able to offer her lots of love and attention and she would have playmates....just want to do what is right for Shelly and of course all concerned.
Thanks for any input.
