Telepathic Abilities?

Just wondering if anyone thinks animal telepathy is really possible. I've been researching it because I'm really thinking it is a real thing. For example I will think something sad in the next room, but not make any sounds or noise, and Crouton will run in worriedly and try to cheer me up, like she sensed sadness. (Side note, she never tries to cheer me up when I'm crying at a movie only when I'm genuinely sad.:confused2:)

After I was interested in this topic I started researching how to play telepathic games with your pet and so I've been thinking in pictures along with everything I say to her verbally and trying to project them to her. Sometimes I'll do this when I'm giving her verbal commands and sometimes when I'm not saying anything.

Anyways, I don't know if what happened is coincidence but the other day she was looking at me like I'm bored and I didn't say anything to her, I just looked into her eyes and thought to her if your bored go get red ball (which is what I call her kong ball) and I projected an image of her carrying the kong in her mouth. I swear on my life she did a Sheltie smile like "I understand you" and got her red ball!! I dunno maybe I'm crazy or reading too much into a coincidence but I was floored.
 
I have no doubt that dogs can read emotions and body language more sensitively than humans.

Is it possible that when you think red ball, there is some kind of movement or eye contact that you make that they are reading into?

For example: If I'm reading on the couch and its getting close to feeding time, the dogs know the difference between my going into the kitchen to get a glass of water vs. my going into the kitchen to feed them. Even if I don't say a word, my movements are different. Even getting up from the couch is different. If its water, they might get up hopefully, and then settle again. If its food, they instantly run to their dishes and start clamouring.....

But telepathic.....perhaps some are, just as I believe some humans are in varying degrees (but again, much of that might be just being better readers of non-verbal signals).
 
I definitely believe they can feel your emotions and moods. They definitely know if you are happy with them or not.

When my uncle died, his sheltie was 250 miles away and started howling at the time of Uncle Bob's death.

Last June, Emma at 7 months of age, began watching my mother and getting up on her new. On June 18th, about 3:00 in the afternoon, she got up on Mom's knee and wouldn't get down. We lost Mom about three hours later to massive heart failure.

Can dogs sense what it coming? Yes, some more than others. Even now both Emma and Liam are watching Dad and I know the more they watch him, the more I know what it coming.

You know it's totally possible and if anything I could have looked at her toy box where I keep all her toys, the only thing is that she pulled out all the rest of the toys and dug to the bottom of it to find the red ball. But it can also be that she wanted to bring it to me anyway.

Wow, I'm sorry about the deaths of your loved ones. 250 miles away and still being able to sense loss is so amazing.
 
These are some amazing stories! Shelties are so sensitive... to moods, to slight nonverbal gestures, and even to your eye flicks. It's truly remarkable. Keep the stories coming! :eek2::smile2:

I'm not sure about your uncle's death....it could have been coincidence.

As for your mother.....I do believe dogs have the unique ability to sense illness. It could be smell (an odour that we humans don't pick up); a subtle change in how we sit or stand.....when I'm sick, my dogs are like glue
 
While I don't think that they are telepathic, I do believe that they are able to tune into sents and odurs that we give off when emotional or ill,very keenly and can tune in to our emotions because of this. the classic example of this is seziure dogs, that can tell when there masters are going to have a sezure
even before any physical signs appear sometime 10 or more minutes in advance.
 
There's no harm looking into animal communication telepathically. Any way we can try to improve our communication and relationship with our dogs is worth a go!

I got an ebook on the topic and it currently seems abit airy fairy and general and try as I might to send mental thoughts to my two I have not been successful. But I'll keep on trying anyway! :lol:
 
Don had a tumor behind his right eye. Mally would lick Don's right eye even before Don had any MRI's or Cat Scans. It's like Mally knew something was wrong with Daddy's eye before the doctors did! (Don did have brain surgery and the tumor was non-malignant)
