I've told people for a long time that I know it sounds crazy but I swore my Sheltie was telepathic. I lost him 2 days ago.
But my stories are a little different that him knowing when I wasn't well.
I could be in the basement working on the computer in my office and know he was standing at the door upstairs needing to go out. He wasn't barking or making a sound.
Or even though the stairs and basement is carpeted and he didn't have a collar that tinkled. I would be deeply focused on something and suddenly know he was standing in the doorway behind me saying "It's supper time"
I could be watching TV and know he was standing behind the couch staring at me wanting to play.
Obviously as most dogs he always knew my emotional and physical state and when I needed something. But the fact I always knew his wants needs and feelings from even another level of the house always puzzled me.
Even the day he died I ran to him and caught him before he collapsed, I just felt him, that something was wrong, turned around and started running to him, he collapsed just as I got to him hands stretched out.
I always felt like he somehow planted thoughts in my head. If our connection wasn't telepathic I dunno what is.

I can truly say that I have never known any dog to be as sensitive as the wonderful Sheltie, it is almost scary at times.
