I am home at last. Why is that such a big deal, you ask. Because I survived the DC snowstorm of 2011. I left work yesterday afternoon at 3:30 -- we were allowed to leave two hours early to beat the snowstorm. HA! Layla and I were on the road for seven and a half hours,
and we didn't even get all the way -- we stayed with a friend who lives fifteen minutes from our place. At Nattering Springs, we had 10 inches!
Layla was amazing. She hung in there, keeping my spirits up and being such a good little disaster companion. I think I'd have lost my mind if she hadn't been along. At one point, we were stopped for nearly an hour, so I took her for a walk -- yep, right on the road. We got stuck twice and have three Good Samaritans to thank for getting us out.
I got home at 1:30 this afternoon.
