The sheltie nobody wants

Once again a happy ending, started reading this thread with tears and ended up with a smile. Thanks to Dannysmom and Sheltie Shack of Kansas. These poor boys - their life is on the upswing now.

Thanks to you all who got involved. Feel kinda left out here on the left coast but do my bit with our local shelter. Will help with any rescue out this way if I can.

Not only are the two shelties and collie being helped but sheltie shack is also helping Pets Miracle with much needed resources. They got way over their head. Is is so strange how this has worked out. I never click on a dog on petfinder unless I see it is in a pound. Why I wanted to find out more about Lucky is a mystery since he was listed as being in a safe shelter. There just has to be some kind of supernatural guidance working here. Tri State rescue in New York has also offered to help. May even take one of the shelties.

I am crying and smiling at the same time. Thank Heaven's these pour souls are getting the help to find their forever homes.

Together, we give Shelties a voice. As individuals, we can't help every one -- but together, we find homes for these special Shelties.

This is so very true!! New York, Kansas, Texas (little Zippy), together we can make the difference.

The Sheltie that nobody wants is pretty much how Lucy was described when I first called about her. Now she is healthy and in charge of doorbell security

Reading this thread I just have to say.....you guys are awesome. What an amazingly compassionate group of people. Kudos to all of you.

Chris you are so right. All of us on the forum have a deep love for the breed and there are so many ways all of us help. Some Rescue, some post here, some foster, some share info on Fb, some help with transport and many make donations. When you put all these things together it really gives many Shelties in need their new forever homes and a great chance at the love they so deserve.

God Bless every one of the little Shelties out there just waiting for their chance.

Update on Lucky - he had surgery to fix his broken leg and is quiet. He was still at the vets. It may take longer to heal since he is older. It was ten days after his leg was broken before it was discovered.:( Sheltie Shack doesn't know when it will be okay to transport him. But is working on it plus the other two dogs. Sheltie Shack keeps me updated on Lucky and Copper and The collie. I like to post some of these poor shelties on this forum because I know how much we all love these dogs and am sure others will step in and help them.

Another update - both Lucky and Copper are featured on Sheltie Shack home page. http://www.sheltieshack.com
Hopefully Lucky will be able to travel this weekend (his surgery on his broken leg went well). Both Lucky and Copper are older than what the petfinder pages said. And the collie is going to collie rescue. Their progress and pictures will be on sheltie shack webpage. Maybe they can find a forever home - they have been waiting too long.
