I don't think my boys started lifting their legs until after they were neutered when they were around 6 months old. Luna only does it on one side, whereas I think it's hilarious whenever Ashlee pees, he lifts up one leg, and then he lifts up his other one before he finishes. I've never seen that before. lol

With ou Blue at four months we haven't seen that Right of Passage yet. His tail doesn't stand straight up anymore, but no sign of a squat, so maybe he's on the way. Must send him out with my daughter's male Labs so he can also do monkey see monkey do.

haahaaa... Tucker was a baby when he was lifting his leg...it was actually funny to watch at 7 weeks old the little stubby leg lifted up...until he did it in the ex-pen inside and wizzed though the bars... although after that I could always tell when he peed

Cran was a little man (7-9 weeks) when he started lifting his leg. he does sometimes switch off. and he did have a big brother to watch

Denali started lifting his leg last week at 13 weeks and there has been no one to teach him this. Must be in the wiring.

He definitely learned it by watching Justice. I saw him watching Justice during my finally playing video. 2 days later he did it. Little brother look up to their big brothers and want to be like them I guess.

This must be the problem with poor Barkley, the only boy in a houseful of girls. He's never lifted his leg and he's 5! He plants all four feet like a horse with his back legs stretched out behind him.

You know I think Birch and Epic sound really alike, I saw Epic lift his leg at about 12 weeks - he doesn't do it all the time but it's definitly there. I acatually prefer that as it means he can't walk along while peeing which was a real nuisaince as the few times he did it in the house there was a 2 foot long trail to clear up. Mentally I think Epic is very advanced for his age as he has been mounting my friend's sheltie bitch in a very determined way since he was 12 weeks. Personally I blame the media and the TV!!

Yogi has never really got keen on leg lifting though and bitches were only ever 'just friends', inspite of his father being one of the more prolific stud dogs in recent years!

This is how Cooper does it too, but sometime the right foot comes off the ground. Not like other dogs who life their legs to the side and look like they might just lose their balance.

Ember is a leg lifter. She squats and lifts and then walks and lifts the other side all while squating.
