for a long time. We got a new girl after Ariel died in September and we lost her yesterday due to complications from Dental surgery and kidney failure.

Trinket was an amazing little girl and had her paw prints all over our hearts in the 4 short months she was part our lives.

Her pain and suffering these last few days were terrible for her and there was nothing more that could be done other than release her from it.

We feel so guilty that we could have done more, seen more, prevented this but one can never turn back the hands of time and for that we beg her forgiveness.

I was going to introduce her to this forum this month with some pictures in my gallery but this is not the way it was supposed to be.

She was a joy to us and as I entered my first weeks of retirement this January and was my buddy and companion now she is gone and we are devestated.

I can't write anymore as the tears are making it hard to see and while I am a tough old guy, when it comes to our girls I am not. To lose another one so soon is beyond our understanding and Trinket deserved so much more and we feel we let her down.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I just lost my Finnish Spitz on Monday so I fully understand how you are feeling.

Don't doubt the care you gave your little girl. I'm sure you did everything possible to help her and, as much as it hurts, sometimes the best thing we can do for them is to let them go. I'm sure she knows you loved her very much, even after such a short period of time.

I am so sorry for both of your losses. You say that Trinket had her "pawprints all over your hearts". Rest assured that she knew she had all your love during the time she was with you. I think we all blame ourselves when we lose one of our beloved companions. You need to try to let that feeling melt away by accepting that you did everything you could for your little girl.

So sorry for the loss of your buddy, we all understand how a sheltie doesn't just lay by your feet or sit in your lap; but snuggles right to the heart. Cherish your good memories and know that Trinket is no longer suffering.

I am so very sorry for your loss of Trinket. Bless her sweet little heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. Trinket was a beautiful dog, inside and out, as were your other puppers.

I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl Trinket. What a beauty she was! I can understand where you are coming from. We just lost our little buddy Zoe on Jan. 12. It is so hard to say good bye to them. Thank you for sharing a picture of her in your time of grief. Please let us know how you are doing, we all can relate.
