Thou shalt not give into temptation...or shalt I?

HELP!!! Claussen's brother "Relish" from the "pickle litter" just went up for adoption. I believe they were growing him out and he got runner up for best puppy in class but they just told me he's available now...not sure why. But I'm sooooo tempted!!!! I really wanted to wait for a blue merle. I don't think I should have 3 puppies all at once but Claussen is a dream to have...so quiet and gentle. He acts like a 15 year old dog! He has to shift his hips to sit down, just like an old dog-not because he's arthritic but just because that's the way he is....slow and steady. So I'm wondering how Relish's temperment is...I've emailed them with some questions and am waiting to hear back but oh-anybody here ever have 3 puppies as pets all at once? I mean, Relish is 8 months old, too, so at least the housebreaking and ear training will be done for me...*sigh* decisions decisions.

You know you're in the wrong place to be talked out of a puppy, right? Temperment is sooooo much more important than color and besides I'm a big sable fan!

You don't seriously think anyone here is going to say, "don't get another puppy!"

At 8 months old Meggie was through her puppy stage, fully house trained and she never did chew things. If her breeder had offered me one of her litter mates my decision would have been simple!

Claussen and Relish, that's hysterical. What were the other pickle litter names?

Well we went from one puppy, when we brought Trapp home...then four months later brought his half brother home.(Jasper). Trapp was such a dream, easy to train, mellow, fun. I thought..how can it be any differant.I figured same sire, differant mom,but I was hopeful to get an easy puppy.

That we did.He was easy to train for the most part.Although he was a clown. And sometimes was an instigator. But for the most part just plain fun.

Although at the ages they were both introduced,Trapp 4 months and Jasper 9 weeks,I was not prepared for some real sheltie fun with two.Honestly it's so much better in multiples.

Then last Sept.almost a year ago on the 29th of Sept.we brought Mia home.We also have our lab Earnhardt.

I would be very, very tempted as well...but I think it depends on your schedule. Right now I am working full time and would feel guilty if I had 3 puppies. I just wouldn't have time to do as much training with each one as I would like.

The names were "Pickles", "Gherkin", "Vlasic", "Dill", "Relish", and "Claussen". I don't know if I'd keep his name Relish though heh. It would be unique though! I'd like to take a trip up there to meet him...the breeder lives in a beautiful area along a lake anyways and they might like to see Claussen. I was thinking of having Claussen's AKC name being "Pickle in the Middle" hehe.

OMG the names! So cute!

and yeah.. uhm.. if he is half as cute as Claussen I have no idea why you wouldn't take him, LOLLLLL
But be careful with colour, he has to fit in with your crew... which I kinda have no doubts, lol.. That's the only tiny bit of voice of reason you going to get from me, hahahahaha

What a cute concept, the `pickle` litter hahaha too cute!

I too would be tempted but, like Ashley, I would feel guilty not having enough time for Precious, not having enough as is, if I brought home another puppy on top of my already too busy schedule. I guess just try to rationally assess where you are in life and if you have enough time to emotionally, mentally and physically exhaust your energy in three (demanding) puppies with socialization, exercise, training, money. I guess cause I like to spoil Precious, I can`t imagine multiplying her costs by two with insurance, vet bills, training classes for socilization mainly, food, physical activity, etc. Then again, I`m just a young student so you on the other hand may have the family hands to help you and financial ability to do that hahaha All in all, best of luck to you and your decision :) Claussen and Little bear are still the best!
