undercoat rake

Do any of you use this for your dog? Using just a plain brush KILLS my hand (I have carpal tunnel and trigger finger in both hands) because it takes a long time to brush him! It removes the 'tufties' as I call them - the clumps of undercoat hair that I brush out. After the rake then I brush - much easier to do! He just has so much coat!!!!
 
I use one, but as a last step in grooming otherwise it's too painful for them, ripping out those knots can hurt. After a good brushing I use it and am amazed at how much more fur comes out!

I have the CC T-Brush because using a standard pin brush is painful on my wrists. I LOVE IT! It's just as good as a standard pin brush but without the pain.

I do use an undercoat rake and slicker brush as well.

I know it would be painful if you hit a knot. I check his coat out before using it. We get the knots, if he has any, out first then use it. I just wish I had seen these years ago when we had our Collie - he had a massive coat just like Nick. I must be a masochist - I love having pets with great coat factor!
 
I use a rake all of the time, on both the Shelties and the Collie. If not, I would be using the Dyson 24/7!
 
I just got the one Lanie is talking about and I like it. It is made by top paw but says Conair on it as well. Cleo was not bothered by using it and I got some of her butt fluff down.:lol:
