Vitamins for Skin/Coat Health

Ok Im confused, perhaps im reading it wrong though....your saying Omega 6 (linolenic Acid) causes inflammations with its by products, but than your saying Omega 3 (Linolenic Acid) is good....How can they both be the same???? or am I reading it wrong and missing something...which could be the case :)

Omega 6 is Linoleic acid(one type of Omega 6 anyway)
Omega 3 is Linolenic acid note the added n Actually Omega 3's are aplha linolenic acid(ALA), EPA, DHA

I was confused at first until I looked it up. That always confused me in school too. Probably why they call them Omega 3 and 6 now.:wink2:

Here is an article that will probably be more then you want to know about essetional fatty acids.:smile2:

Omega 3 is the only thing I sometimes supplement with the Alaska fish oil. Omega 3 is fragile, and is lacking in most foods. They should get a minimum of 180 EPA and 120 DHA.

I wouldn't touch plant based Omegas, since dogs are carnivores. The fish oil is easy to procure, so why go with the plant based?

I never would have caught on to that if you hadn't brought it up! I never noticed the "n"!

That's true. But read the ingredients on your Vibrant Pets jar. Linatone only has oils...no probiotics, prebiotics, vitamins etc. You'd need to buy those all separately.

Why? They should be getting all of those in the variety of foods they are fed, right?

My three dogs eat three different foods, all good quality. In my experience, no matter how high the quality of food, you don't get the same level of enzymes and probios that you get from a good quality supplement like VP. And what those supplements do for my dogs is give them better coats, more energy, less gas, digestive problems, and fish breath. For me, that's worth it.
