What age to nueter (approx)

Actually many baby boys do get the tip snipped when they are born for health and/or religious reasons. (sorry if that's a little too much info)

I was always told to spay and neuter at 6 months to avoid the crazy hormones, unwanted to behavior and a faster recovery. My recommendation to you is do what you and your vet thinks is best for your puppy :)

Ah well, circumcision is one thing, gelding/neutering is another. Just to be clear that these are two very different processes, with two very different results! :wink2:

Hmmmm

Well why does he have to have his manhood removed anyway??? I am told they like to pee on your stuff more (mark their territory) but dogs do that anyway and can be trained to stop and that they are more aggressive. (my puppy is the most non aggressive dog I have ever seen).
Maybe he wants to keep them.. I know I want to keep mine!!!. lol... I heard there is more risk of certain cancers (testicular i assume) ... but there are risks with any surgery as well. :yes:

Sometimes it's in the best interest of the dog to do it early, and sometimes it's better on the dog to wait. My dog was neutered way earlier than I wanted because of a genetic problem. The stress of not being neutered would have made it worse. :yes:

It also depends on if you have any bitches in the area that have not yet been fixed. Your dog will drive you CRAZY every time the bitch goes into season. My male would lay at my front door and tremble and moan 24/7 for a week straight. It was pathetic and horrible. There really wasn't any choice for me because losing a week of sleep twice a year was not really going for me.
