What do you feed

I feed Timberwolf Organics I mix 2 of the flavors southwest Chicken and lamb and apple. Mine have been doing well on this so far. They have been on it for about 9 months now.
 
Our boys eat SmartPak Chicken and Rice, its ingredients are very similar to Wellness and its a little bit cheaper. Its also comes in individual serving bags, so I don't have to worry about overfeeding by trying to eyeball portions, as I have been known to do :o
 
Most everyone knows that I home cook for my dogs. It's actually more inexpensive to do that than buy the holistic dog food. However when I cook for them I know exactly what quality of food they are eating and I can adjust the amounts to benefit each dog individually.

Their diet consists of chicken breast or chicken liver, salmon, green vegetables, fruit, oatmeal and eggs along with a complete supplement.

Steady! Actually, I think the high protein/no grain is better on his weight. I think (but I don't know for sure) that you'll get greater weight gain with grain diets. (I think for people, high protein diet is one of the lose weight programs out there) His coat feels great too! But I'm also supplementing with Inflight.


The only concern I ever heard about high protein is making sure that get enough water intake. So I mix hot water into their kibble to make a stew.
 
She originally started with the breeder mix of Purina One. I changed her to what my old sheltie used to eat, Castor & Pollux. Then we went to Solid Gold, Blue Buffalo, and then Evo. The Evo red bites seemed to be hard on her system. Either the red meat was too rich or the protein was too high. I liked Natura Pet because they seemed to have independent ways of certifying what they were saying about their food. So I went to the Innova poultry mix.

Now she is eating the Innova with the canned Merrick. She gets a teaspoon of Merrick with some hot water and a quarter cup of Innova. She loves her food. Before it was eat a few bites and then ignore the food. Now she licks the bowl clean. She is starting her third bag and her coat is very glossy. She's also bouncing off the walls.:eek2::eek2:Too Much Energy!
 
We feed "Taste of the Wild" High Prairie Canine Formula. It's Grain-Free and an all Life-Stages Diet.
 
Feed Those Babies

[B]We had to go to a cooked meal all the way for Buggs.. So we started him on sauteed yellow squash, and zucchini mixed with cooked brown rice and bits of well cooked chicken. This little fella has dropped his "Chicken Skin" coated stool and goes regularly with hard poop. We are so pleased. Meddi is eating the same but with an occasional handful of bagged Pedigree. I thank God for a bountiful garden this year [/B]:yes:

Sunchaser - what supplement do you give them?

I cook regularly for mine (similar diet to what you listed) but I am concerned they are not getting all the nutrients they need so started feeding Eagle Pack cans for dinner regularly as well (tho add extra meat on training/heavy exercise days). In winter it prob doesnt matter because they get kibble for breakfast but in summer they only get a bone and the cooked meal.

Cooked is defininately cheaper than Eagle Pack - $5.50 a tin here - more than I spend on my own meals!

I use Artemis small dog puppy. My dog enjoys it and he's healthy & happy. Protein are it's top ingredients; it has grain but no wheat or corn (it has barley and rice.)
