We're on Orijen and Vibrant Pets supplement. Together, they're incredible!!

I really liked the Orijen and hated to go off it when Bacca got sick. But the Horizen seems to be just as good.

I also supplement my pups with Inflight. It doesn't have the same health effects as Vibrant Pets, but is great for their coat.

Smudge has gone through four different kinds of dog food in his short puppy life. First it was Purina and then Purina Pro (because I didn't know any better and the vet gave me some). Then I switched to Wellness. He LOVED Wellness, but after eating it for a while I noticed it was causing him slight bathroom problems (it was kind of runny, and it was a pain to clean up). So I switched to Orijen puppy. Sometimes his stool is still soft/kind of runny, but not as often. I'm going to be adding the supplement Vibrant Pets to his food soon.

Even though the Wellness didn't work out for me, I do still buy dog biscuits that are made from the same company. He doesn't get them very often though. They're crunchy little bone treats, and he loves them. Smudge will eat anything. At least I didn't get a picky eater. Here's the link to the dog biscuits in case you might want to check them out. Miles has been eating Royal Canin kibble (on recommendation of the vet) and he seems to like it. On top of that, he gets home-cooked food (high-grade chicken, lamb and veggies) with the occasional raw bone.

But i'm thinking about swithcing to Eagle Pack dry food...which seems to be one of the best brands from people's comments here.

For those of you who feeds their Sheltie Eagle Pack, how much do you feed them? I'm thinking of continueing to mix the kibble with home-cook stuff for flavour rather than can food...

Mine get a 1/4 cup of eagle pack kibble in the morning and I cook their evening meal or when I am lazy they get a 1/2 can of the tinned eagle pack (they looove it). It probably equates to a cup of kibble in total. Tully gets the same as Deska, even though he is twice as big, because she very active.

My vet said because I was feeding a high quality dog food there is enough nutrients in that small amount to give them all they need (in case I am not giving them all they need in their cooked meal). He said they over compensate nutrients in commercial food to allow for the many people who don't feed just the kibble.
