Mine chewed part of the microwave stand when he was young (he's a year old now).

He also ate the electrical wires from my DVD player, a lamp and the blender (all were unplugged, had to throw them away).

Also...

Toothbrush
Tube of toothpaste
Newspaper
Cardboard boxes
Shoe laces
Leather sandal
Contents of my gf's purse including a credit card holder

Ugh...

My dog only went through a tiny chewing stage when she was about a year and a half old. It was bizarre, because she wasn't a big chewer as a puppy (and hasn't been since).

It began one day when we came home from a short outing to the grocery store to find she'd flipped her dog bed upside down and chewed out the apparently tasty foam padding inside. Shredded it to bits, all over the house.

She didn't touch anything else for two months, then another day we came home to find that she'd torn apart a box of tissues. Apparently Kleenex is a fun thing to shred into tiny little pieces.

The only other thing she'd chew on was the plastic bits on the end of your shoelaces.

Her current favourite chew toy is the cat, but he's less of a chew toy and more of a nip-and-chase toy.

Our eldest, Charlie, has recently revisited a habit of her puppyhood... she'll chase her shadow into a corner, then eat a hole in the wall! We have little patch jobs about knee heighth throughout our living room

Well, darn it, you'd eat your shadow too if it kept following you around all the time:razz:

Oh, wait a minute, I just realized MY shadow is following me around, too. Argh!!!

Smoke was never a big chewer until we brought Apollo home, so I guess its all the Aussie's fault

A list of what they have destroyed:

* Most of the woodwork in our apartment bathroom, where they stayed alone during the day before we got a house.

*Entire boxes of Kleenex

*Shoes

*Socks

*Receipts

*Our mail

*Remote Controls

*Coasters

*DVD cases

*Paper towels

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting. The philosophy seems to be, "If I can reach it, its a chew toy!"

Addendum

Dog Property Laws:
If I like it, it's mine.
If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
If I can take it from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
If I'm chewing something up, all the pieces are mine.
If it just looks like mine, it's mine.
If I saw it first, it's mine.
If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
If it's broken, it's yours.

Hysterical, Chris, and so true!! With three Shelties sleeping on the bed there's hardly room in our house for the humans. And they get very testy if you try to move them. Ours have chewed everything from the wallboard in our bathroom to furniture and table legs, the usual shoes, gloves, kleenex, pieces of clothing, any research material I am foolish enough to leave near the floor and God help us, people food. Last weekend I stupidly left part of a bagel on an end table while I got up to get more coffee. Need I say more?? This usually abates, I've found around age 2, thank heaven! But the standing joke in our house is that every Sheltie we've had has decimated some signature Christmas decoration, either from the tree, or around the house, and the rule is it MUST be a favorite.:rolleyes2: Oh well, we love them anyway!

I guess I have been fortunate, when Jewel was with us she never really chewed on much of anything, Tasha has neither that I can remember. But Senility is setting in so maybe I just can't remember.
Chris you really are a riot !! You missed your calling you should have been a comedian. My husband is just like you can come up with a comeback saying without putting any effort in it. I wish I could but Oh well. It's sure fun in this forum. :biggrin2: I did have one dog that was just a foster and he was not very hopitable, he ate my denture!:eek2: That was the most expensive foster I ever had.
