What random things does your sheltie bark at?

My guys are pretty good. Trax goes after the vacuum cleaner when I take out the hand tools.

My worst was our old dog Callie. She barked when you loaded the washing machine, yet calmed down once we started it up. She barked when the phone rang. She barked when people tried to leave the house. She barked when the kids would go to bed. She had so many crazy anxieties it wasn't funny after a while.

Treesa barks when my son is coming home....She seems to be able to sense him getting off the bus about a block and a half from here...and can tell he is walking towards the house......Then she totally harasses him when he comes in (actually to excess)
We have no idea how she can tell it's him from so far away..???
Other than that it's appropriate, doorbell, on tv or not.
:pop

Animals are so interesting. My daughter had a part Siamese cat that turned into an outdoor cat due to allergies. She used to walk down to the end of the street and wait for my daughter to get out of school, and then walk home with her.

My brother-in-law had a cockatiel bird that would start chirping madly every day about 5 minutes before he pulled in the driveway after work. We thought at first he'd learned to associated the music to the TV series MASH with Tracy getting home -- but he continued to do it even after another TV show took that time slot.

Missy isn't too noisy. Most of her barking is done when she's playing with other dogs or people. But she does have a couple things she does bark at.

- Everytime I sneeze, she comes to find me and barks at me. She does NOT like it when I sneeze.
- Stray cats outside. Which is weird, because she doesn't bark at the two cats that live with her, or my parents cat when we visit them.
- Random trash left in the parking lot.. like bags from fastfood
- Other dogs if she's really excited and wants to play
- She barks non-stop at flyball when other dogs are practicing
- Any dog playing frisbee.

I'm sure there's more, so I'll add them once I think of them...

My Honey barks at EVERYTHING. grass moving, squirrels, birds chirping/flying, seagulls, waves, doorbells, foot steps, if she wants my attention for any reason, sounds that she thinks means someone is near (including us dropping stuff or my fiance making a funny sound with his mouth) oooh it's an adventure trying to keep her from barking since we're in an apartment..good thing my one neighbor doesn't mind at all (she barks at him leaving and entering his apartment since the door is right next to ours) and my other neighbor does not even hear her.

Bella barks at toilet paper being torn off the roll :rolleyes2: annoying considering she insists on sitting in the bathroom everytime I go. And when SHE thinks it is time for everyone to go to bed. She will bark at the TV until you turn it off then flop herself on the bed. So demanding!

Lately she barks if ANYONE touches me.:rolleyes2:

I totally forgot about the vacuum. Probably because I don't do it often :o Emi HATES the vacuum cleaner. She will attack it and bark, which makes Topper bark, which makes the Lhasa bark. The only one that doesn't care about the vacuum is my 13yo lab.

I don't know if Jake doesn't like the vacuum...I haven't vacuumed since we got him :o

Emi also gets all bent out of shape and yips if the boys are wrestling or being mean to each other.

 I don't bring Mr laid back Sca in when the beginners are practicing since Sca goes nuts and is a pretty large distraction

I just started bringing her crate, covering it (except the door), and facing her the opposite direction. Otherwise she gets so excited, when it's her turn to practice, she won't focus.
