Which food do you feed?

My boys are currently on TOTW Sierra Mountain.
I chose this because of the lower protein, however, I am going to switch to Acana soon. Great food, just not for us.

Acana Grasslands is upcoming, it's lower than most, but still high in protein (32%). I think the higher protein works for them though, so I'm going that route (will need to test).

I personally liked the higher protein because they both lost weight and kept it off. They never acted like they're starving (like they are now on TOTW - esp Miko and he's never like that).

I supplement Vibrant Pets (sport one, whatever it is), pumpkin and glucosamine in the AM

I feed my boys, and my adult fosters, Fromm Gold. I was feeding Innova until it was bought out by P & G. I was going to keep with Innova, but my dogs started to have major tummy troubles (Ozzy even had blood in the stool). After numerous vet visits where nothing else could be found on either dog (and my foster dog at the time's hair started to get thin) we switched to Fromm. Poops were firmer, no blood in the stool and coats started to get softer and glossier. In short, they were back to the way they were before Innova was bought out.

(I called the Innova cust service lines a couple of times to see if they changed ingredients, suppliers or formula. Each time they said no. But the proof is in the pudding (or poop in this case).
 
I feed Wellness and switch between Fish and Chicken but do add in other bags. Right now I am halfway through a bag of Fromm Chicken. I have not decided my next bag yet. They like it all. I may pick one from Nutrisource.
 
Before switching to raw, I fed my gang Blue Buffalo. Hadley's coat was soft, plush, and shiny. I had no complaints about it. I just decided to change foods since Lily was having seizures and all the food I looked at, tons of it, had pros and cons. I just decided to forgo feeding them from a bag that could easily not be what it says. As far as kibble goes though, blue buffalo is good. My cat is still on it and her coat has never been softer and she sheds a lot less.
 
Well the new pup came with NOW Puppy and the breeder has all her dogs on NOW or GO both made by Pet Cureane, So The more I checked into it the better it sounded compared to what I had been feeding. SO over the last week
I have been switching the older guys over to NOW Adult. Today was Cosmo's first day on a complete NOW Breakfast, his bowl was Empty and That's a first he usually always leaves at least some kibble bits left behind for later, not this morning.
I do use cooked real beef Liver & beef Heart as training treats and as a real meat supplement.

It is quite a bit more expensive then what I have been feeding but I think It will be worth it.

Ah, that's the food that I'm thinking about moving away from! I've got both my boys on Now! and we've been on it for almost 1 year. And they both gobble it. I had trouble getting Bacca to eat. Then I switched and he's been a pig ever since.

I actually have them both on Adult Maintenance because they could both stand to lose a few pounds. But the issue, that prompted my thread in the first place is the size of their poops! Ginormous! It makes be wonder if all the food is just getting passed through as waste.

Keep track of the poop size and let me now if you see a significant difference from their last diet. If you see an increase too, then I might be correct that the diet may not be the best for our pups.

I wasn't sure how high you were willing to go for protein levels. I just saw this:
Acana Ranchlands. It's 31% though.

(for me, that's low as I was up to almost 40%, but for you, that may be high). Just throwing out some others to look into (or dismiss).

BTW, I was looking into Fromm. Really good food, but for my two, I was trying to stay away from grains and potato. So, it was low on the list (but hey, it MADE the list, lol)
 
After exhaustive research I decided to try Orijen. The main factors in my decision were the ingredient list, its award from a respected scientific organisation (Glycemic Research Institute) and the recommendation of various dog food websites.

Dylan absolutely loves it, and it has made his coat beautifully soft. The only downside is the cost, which seems to have risen yet further recently.
