13 year old vomiting after eating but acting fine...

Timmy is jsut fine. Thankfully, the "new" treats -- wheat free, organic, etc -- disagreed with him!! I think we had learned this before, that this one brand and one type didn't agree w/ his belly but I had forgotten. Easy problem to fix. And b/c he needs to constantly have tiny treats, I prefer...

13 year old vomiting after eating but acting fine...

Timmy kept down a few saltines last night and has had 1/3 of a normal breakfast w/ some saltines crumbled in as well as some water. Will make him some rice this AM but no chicken. I don't cook chicken, if he isn't better later, he'll get cooked bison and sweet potato w/ his rice. Hoping it;s...

13 year old vomiting after eating but acting fine...

Thanks...this just bugs me. :( Timmy has always been my easiest baby....other than his weird tummy! He can keep down water, but we didn't let him have tons since he started vomiting this AM, just a few small sips at a time b/c usually when he vomited in the past, water made it worse. He has kept...

13 year old vomiting after eating but acting fine...

My 13 year old Timmy is acting fine -- napping, trotting around the snowy yard, woofing, etc etc, but has thrown up 3 times today. He threw up after breakfast, once midday (not after a meal) and again right after dinner this evening. He crunches his kibbles one by one quite gently, so it's not...

    Dryer Sheets!

Thanks! This one seemed unused, still had a bit of the powder on it. I cannot figure out how he got it!! He's acting just fine, and I am guessing we'd know by now if there was an issue....Still, it bugs me!

    Dryer Sheets!

My youngest Sheltie, almost 6, shredded a dryer sheet yesterday. I am extremely anal about throwing them out in a garbage pail either inside a cabinet or into a pail w/ a lid that the dogs can't open b/c I have heard that the chemicals on dryer sheets can be toxic and fatal if ingested. So I...

    Converting to IUs

Does anyone know how to convert omega 3 supplements from milligrams to IUs? I know that conversion of anything to IUs is specific to each given vitamin or supplement, and it is not standard, but I cannot for the life of me find a conversion chart of omega 3!! One of my dogs needs a specific...

    Joint Supplements For Young Dogs

I use Dasuquin w/ MSM for my older dogs. We see a difference in the formula without MSM. I have never used Cosequin, but have friends who do, with good results. Not sure about a younger dog, can only offer what In know from my experiences. We have good results, and our older dogs feel good...

    Coughing and gagging

I'd call the vet immediately, for peace of mind if nothing else...But it sure sounds like kennel cough. Stress (to a new environment, etc) can also cause a cough/sneezing fit or two, but if it persists on and off, kennel cough might be the culprit. Vax aren't 100% coverage, for humans, too, and...

How far would you go for a Sheltie gathering?

I'd probably drive an hour or so each way....Saturday afternoons are best, but I wouldn't say no to a Sunday event that started in the morning but ran all day. (Sunday afternoons aren't convenient if one has to drive far and then work the next day.....)

Need advice for extremely timid rescue

Our youngest Sheltie was so timid when he came from rescue, that he basically spent 4 months hiding in the bedroom. We had to carry him out until he was finally bribe-able w/ treats....He still gets spooked from time to time, but a loud noise or something unfamiliar. It's been a year and a...

    Air Purifier

We have 3 Shelties and 2 air purifiers -- 1 purifier upstairs, and 1 downstairs. The ones we bought (in a twin-pack at BJs, perfect!) have removable filters, so I just vacuum the filters weekly. Amazing how much they suck up. Ours also have UV lights, which help kill dust mites. And they blow...

    Skin irritation

My Dash has a skin issue -- an overgrowth of normal skin bacteria in his skin. A very different issue, but we watch the dogs' skin a lot, all 3 of them....Copper (my angel) started to have a similar reaction to what you've described to the FrontLine as he aged. What we found was spreading out...

    Big Boy?

Perhaps the "standard" just needs to be expanded, rather than changed. Or maybe 2 categories of sizes, like the Beagles?

    Dry Nose??

Will check it out....I do prefer natural stuff when possible....and Pandi is pretty good about letting us put vitamin E on at night. Although, he licks about 1/2 of it off. ;)
