Thank you Chris and everyone for your suggestions and thoughts. Dylan is finally eating some chicken and turkey. He's drinking quite a bit of water and seems more alert since yesterday.
I spoke to the vet and he said because he was eating little bits, he was more concerned with the...
I'm going to call the vet in the morning. Thanks for your suggestions. He's eating the chicken but not much of it and he hasn't pooped in over a week just the runs. I'll update after I talk to the vet. Thanks again.
I rescued Dylan about a year ago. Last week he stopped eating. I took him to the vet who told me he had a kidney and bladder infection.
He gave him an IV to flush out his kidney and he's on a couple antibiotics. My problem is that I can't get him to eat.
The vet gave me Hills KD and ID...
Thanks all for your words of wisdom. I think I'm going to try the light Innova and cut down the amt and see if that helps at all. I just love this site. You all are so helpful. I'll let you know how he does.
If I give Dylan the kong, it's filled usually with frozen green beans. He chews a rawhide bone, nothing that would replace a mean. Should I be feeding him something low fat? the only thing I can think of is the meds or the food itself (Innova) And if he is older than we were told, maybe he...

Thanks everyone. Dylan is soooo much happier now that he's not itching! I swear I see him smiling :). And as far as the age thing goes, I wish we could have had him as a puppy but it really doesn't matter we love him whatever age he is. I know he's happy and content and that's all that matters.
We finally got Dylan to the vet to see about his itching. Vet said he's got seasonal allergys and gave him 4mg of Medrol. It worked with the very first dose! No more itching for him and he seems quite happy about that. I also got some disturbing news also while at the vet. He was checking...
He was chained to a porch when he was rescued and very badly matted. They had to shave him almost right to the skin. It's growing back nicely tho. Hopefully it won't take too long to get back.
I am also having Itching problems with my new rescue Dylan. I've had him since april and he came shaved to the skin because of neglect. His skin looks good now but he's itching terrible and now has started biting and is causing redness. I feed him Innova and very little treats so I don't think...
