Bailey's Chihuahua is getting surgery tomorrow

Bailey's chew toy AKA Cali is getting surgery tomorrow. The little nugget chihuahua developed a lump the size of a marble on her leg. :eek2:

Last year, we noticed she had a lump on her leg. It was a little smaller than a pencil eraser. We brought her to the vet immediately. The vet said it was small and to leave it alone, unless it grows or bothers her. Well last week, the lump quadrupled in size. Poor baby was limping and licking it. We went to the vet this weekend and he said it needs to be removed. Since her legs are so tiny, it will be a much bigger surgery if the lump gets any larger. She is 6 years old, so we also decided to get her teeth cleaned while she is already under anesthesia. Hopefully, it all goes well and the biopsy comes back negative.

These past two weeks have been crazy. Our 8 year old maltese was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Cali is now getting surgery to remove a lump and Bailey has her on going UTI. The vet is definitely going to be able to take a nice vacation... :wink2:

Wishing Cali luck tomorrow. I'm sure it will all go smoothly, especially since she is still a fairly young dog. Let us know how she's recovering!
 
Hope Cali does well on her surgery! Chihuahuas are very strong! They recover fast. Soon she will be running around after Bailey. Hugs to all!
 
Cali is so cute! I am sure that the surgery will go fine. My Cedar had hypothyroidism. It wasn't too big of a deal once we were able to get the medication dosage straightened out. Dr. Jean Dodds has done extensive research on it....and I am sure you can google her and do some reading up on it.

I hope Cali does well tomorrow. Poor little thing. Please keep us updated on how she does My thoughts with you as well your Pocket is taking a beating ! :eek2:
