Bailey's Chihuahua is getting surgery tomorrow

Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes :biggrin2:

Cali came downstairs when I was feeding Bailey this morning. She kept looking at me with those big sad eyes. I felt so bad. Then she tried to take a drink of water, which was next to Bailey, so I had to shoo her off. After Bailey finished, I picked up both bowls. Cali went and sat down on the doggie mat (where their water bowl normally is) and just kept starring at me. Poor baby. She was probably thirsty and hungry. I couldn't help but laugh a little at her sitting in the corner on the mat. She gave me a kiss before I left, so I don't think she's too mad at me.

Just checking in to see how Cali is doing. Hoping all is well. My little Chi"s send a little get well to their little friend. Tell Cali Pepita will come keep Baliey busy until she feels up to being the little sqeeky toy again. We all send our well wishes and hugs for you!

Thank you for checking in Corrina. Cali is doing okay. The post surgery is worse than I had expected. She can't walk or even put weight on her leg. She also seems very uncomfortable. She is on pain meds and they make her tired, which is good. We had to crate her last night, so wouldnt try to walk and hurt herself. Her bandages come off in 7-10 days, so hopefully she will feel better then.
Her teeth look fantastic. They removed all the tarter. Now she has pretty white teeth.

Poor Cali. I am sorry that her surgery was tough :-( My Cedar had a lump removed from his leg awhile ago and he pulled the staple out twice. The skin is so thin there, it was hard to keep it together. Eventually our vet just let it stay open in one spot, since it didn't matter if he scarred. I am hoping that she has a fast recovery.

Poor Cali. I'm sorry to hear that the post surgery is tough. I hope that she starts to feel better as the days go on.

Ivy had a huge lump removed from her back leg about two years ago that took stitches all the way up, it was so large. It's a tough spot for them but they do also heal pretty quickly there. Crating her is a good idea for her own good, the more she rests, the faster she'll heal. I hope Cali improves soon and feels better!
