Sorry again! Dry food - no matter how, it's dried, is kibble in my book. Unless, the food is dried strips of raw meat with nothing else mixed in to it. I suppose I could be convinced that is raw.

Apparently it is like jerky.

I've been trying to get good reviews of this thing - most are all or nothing with the love/hate. Also, many people supplement their foods with it to get the dogs enticed.

According to the above site, not a good pick and totally a scam. It does some ingredient break down that is some speculation, but also brings up some good points.

This site explains what it is very well, I think. For some reason, their claim of 'gently air dried' just didn't bring up the thought of jerky to me. That means it had to be processed all together, smashed, packed, etc - then spread and cut into little pieces. All well and good, sure.

It has like 30% fat - something I wouldn't be comfortable with.

If not doing raw, I think the closest thing would be freeze-dried, not air-dried. You retain a higher moisture content. I haven't invested too much time into this, but here are a few brands.

I had actually not ever heard of this brand before, and based on what I've read thus far, no interest either.

Whoa, 30% fat is way too high, I already have enough trouble keeping weight off Deska, must be pretty low grade meat if it has that much fat.

Actually, they advertize that one of the advantages of this food is controlling weight, and is ideal for dogs with weight issues.....

It is little bit Scary to read the link from the hubpage. they claim one of the ingredients Lecithin can cause Pancreatitis ?? that is a very serious condition. Is this person a reputable Critic ??

Barb, NOW is a Canadian food too...check out the website. They've only recently started marketing it here in the states. I'm really happy with it--just in case you ever need another brand...

You are right, now that I think about it! The guy at the pet shop told me the same but I'd forgotten. I guess I picked Horizon because I had already researched it, but my radar had not come across NOW at that time!

Hmmm....Orijen, Arcana, Horizon, NOW - looks like the Canucks are leading in grain-free diets! Go, Canada, go!

I'm going to step over the line here and strongly recommend that you stop considering this food.

There are plenty of other good foods out there. It almost seems to me like they want to use your pup as a "test case"

We've all made our recommendations below. Its up to you now to decide and stick with it.

Small Bag of Ziweepeak arrived in the mail. I was all ready to return the bag but my girl got so excited she punctured a hole in the bag so i decided to keep it. I gave small tiny piece of this food as almost a treat. and i have Never seen my dog go more crazy over the food than this ever. and i use Liver treats for training purposes and so on.
I hate to throw away the food,, $35 for small tiny bag. so i decided to just mix in 1/10 of her normal food just to try it and see what happens. I never seen a dog Gulp down a food faster than this ever. She is in Dog heaven....lol
I have see in coming days if this small amount of mix in causes any diarrhea or not.
I still have trial bags of Orijen and Acana coming in the mail. so i may still go that food.
FYI,,, this food smells and Looks just like Beef jerky. LOL

Oh and Thanks BarbV for your recommendations. i may still go to Orijen, just because it is a proven product over much longer period of time. and this Zeeweepeak is a brand new product and company. I like foods with proven track record. but i am going to try this small bag of Zeeweepeak,,,, i just hate to throw away small bag that costs $35...
