Canoeing

What did she think about being IN the pool? Was she okay with it?
She just swam around. Mostly stayed by me. I would give her a little shove and she would swim around in a circle back to me. She was not shaking. So I take that as a good sign. Usually when she is scared she shakes. I think she would like it better if she did it more often. After the pool we had backyard zoomies and lots of rolling in the dirt and grass. Lets just say she had to get a bath afterwards.

We just got back from a great weekend canoeing with Alta (7months) and this was her second trip in the canoe (both similar experiences.) She is tiny enough to stand up and her head just reaches over the top of the canoe so she enjoyed looking at the world go by. We brought along a chew stick, she just lay down under one of the seats and chewed away until she fell asleep. she even did a few portages and we gave her extra time during the walk to do her business. She loved watching us catch fish and was curious when we brought the fish in the canoe but didn't go crazy (like I expected her to.) she has the exact life jacket you have, although I can't say how well it works because she hasn't gone any further than knee deep in the water yet.
You will have a great time canoeing with Cleo, it really is fun.

I think she'll probably be fine. There are so many things to see on that route. I think she'll really enjoy it a lot. And she'll be with her people, so that always makes it better.

So.. going canoeing was a flop. Due to so much rain last Monday, they were closed due to high water. We ended up going hiking instead. Down in the caverns it was much cooler and there was water for the kids and Cleo to romp around in. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so that is all that matters. :)

I wondered if the canoes were running. We want to go, but I'm a novice, so no flood waters for me. The cavern area sometimes floods there, but when you can get to it, it is so STUNNING! You all look like you had a great time.

We did. However, right after that picture was taken, My daughter and I went flying off the back of the rock. She started to slip, I pushed her forward which made me fall back and then she fell on me anyway. I landed on my back which had a pack with bottles of water and my daughter landed right on me (thank God!). Cleo jumped down right along with us. Thankfully Cleo didn't get hurt (was about 8 foot drop :eek2:). None of us did actually. The water bottles cushioned the fall and I cushioned my daughters fall.

Well we are trying again for round two! I called and the waters are low this time of year so we wont be flooded out this time. We are renting a canoe and a tube (for my daughter). Hopefully Cleo will be okay with all of the crazy going on. We are just going on a 3 1/2 mile which will be 1-1 1/2 hour trip. Should be fun. :) I will try to take lots of pictures.

Edit: I forgot to mention that we will be going on Sunday, so pictures after that!
