I like human names for dogs, too, with the addition of a middle name. But that is just me. I think the theme is adorable. Besides, how often do my pups get called their full names? Not so often. Duncan is often 'baby bunkin,' Abigail is often 'babigail,' and Pierre is often 'monsieur' (mez-yuh).

Scotch is definitely a good one. The pup will respond to and emulate one name better. I'm so glad you were able to fill the void and get anohter Sheltie. Potato chips!
 
Yes thank you for bringing that up. I had a feeling that it was an Irish drink...its very popular here when I worked as a vet tech for Irish Setters. I just hadn't had the chance to look it up. (Not a beer guy)

I think I am going to try to drop the E in Whisky, his registered name is a Scottish Drinking Proverb that doesn't contain his call name at all so at least I have a parachute for my lack of Scottish knowledge :lol:

I'm leaning much towards Scotch anyway...the red/gold label idea is really excellent for a sable and will complete my drunken theme very well :winkgrin:

Well I'm German Irish so that could very well be where the mixing up lies as well. We prefer to get drunk and sing about slugging it out. :lol:
 
Well the house is spotless and puppy-proofed, puppy's crate is set up, toys are adequately displayed for chewing pleasure in the front room, and now we wait. Just a few hours left here before I make that drive!

Whiskey can feel my pent up energy he keeps nose bopping me. Unfortunately he can't come to the breeder with me just because of cross-contamination and a litter of young puppies. Certainly understandable.
