Dog (pupp) Buying Guide Project

Ok

Not getting alot of feedback or interest in this anymore. Is this still worthwhile? Or am I wasting my time.

But if there is no interest in the forum then I'll save myself the work.

The forum has taken a new direction of late. It's certainly not the same forum that I joined. :sadsmile: Oh well, you just got to go with the flow, I guess. But I think there is more and more opportunity for somebody to take over my posting record soon.
 
Well, I have interest in this project, just nothing constructive to add. I think you are quite capable and frankly I'm glad its you and not me writing it! :eek2:

I'm just a bit puppy-fried right this moment...having cabin fever being stuck indoors with three pups, six dogs, a hubby and a son....I realize that I'm spending a lot of time online looking at comic pictures because I'm a wee bit crispy.

So I wish you well and if you want to email me anything for review; I'll happily look at it.

What happened to everyone..come on folks! Barb has done great,lets not leave her hanging.She's put alot of time & effort into getting this to the point it is right now~

I really love the idea. I just wasn't sure where I could help :)
 
I like the idea of having just a page long that can be printed off...

Something that hits the basics...

May a front page hitting the points of the virtues of owning a Sheltie and their quirks and loveable antics..LOL
Then do the printable take along page for puppy hunting...

Questions to ask themselves...and the potential breeder..

What questions the breeder may ask them...

Maybe a short list of puppy supplies they will need..for puppy home coming..

I am still interested! How about this...if you are still interested and want to help say "I". Barb, why don't you assign everyone who can help, a certain section. For example, genetic testing. We can research it. Write up a short paragraph and provide sources. We can email it to you and then you can edit it and add it to the document. How does that sound?

I stopped reading this because I thought somewhere you said that it was going to only be for the mods to be involved in from now on.

Maybe I am losing my mind.

If it's alright with the forum, though, I would like to suggest a couple of things:

- I would limit the "editorial" board to a few (I'm suggesting Kelly, Anne, Tofu Pup as they are already our "moderators"). It would hard to do this by a large community committee
- I will publish a final draft Table of Contents in the next couple of days.
- If anyone feels strongly that I'm missing a topic in the final ToC, please PM me.
- If anyone would like to put up their hand to take on a specific section, please PM me.

Anything I'm missing???

Here we go....I read this and figured that you needed the weekend to look at it, and then you were going to delegate to an editorial board. I just thought we were off the hook :biggrin2:

So maybe you can explain to us what kind of feedback you are looking for?
 
I haven't had anything to add, but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested. I check out this thread everyday. It's just that anything that I would have suggested has already been brought up by others on the forum.

I too thought that you were going to take the weekend to work on it, and I've been checking back to see if you had a draft available yet.

I'd love to help you out if there's anything I can do! PM me if you're interested!

Well I guess there was a misunderstanding. Ah, the pitfalls of email communication.

I had the order of my bullets incorrect.

I should have said that I wanted to publish the final ToC after people's feedback on Kelly's abbreviated version from my first cut.

And then I was looking for volunteers for anybody who felt like putting their hands up to write a section.

But I WAS suggesting that I leave final editing to the mods on the forum, once I had incorporated everyone's input into the final draft version.

When the thread went dead, I thought perhaps there was no longer any interest...everyone looking at puppy photos and videos instead. :lol:

So-o-o-o...If you feel that Kelly's Table of Contents is sufficient to start, say yes! If you feel their is a topic missing, please advise.

I did actually start writing yesterday, but gave it up because I got discouraged. :o
