Edan sick again :(

Thanks for the information about tripe, SheltieChe and Sumac3890, but Edan has never had tripe before and, given his history of sensitive stomach issues, I would rather not introduce something he's never had into the equation. Its bad enough I'm jumping through different things he use to eat with ease trying to get something of food into him.

He's still not eating - picking at things like dried apples, cheese, and graham crackers but not really eating anything. It's been over 24 hours since he ate the ground beef and rice.

I'm an emotional wreck watching my dog starve himself and not being able to do anything correct the issue. I broke down into hysterical tears a few times yesterday and seem to be living on borderline tears ever time I even think about this. I know people keep saying dogs won't allow themselves to starve but this is getting incredibly serious. It's been a week since this started and there is still no end in sight.

You know your Sheltie, and you know if there's something wrong. Lucky Edan to have you as his advocate!

I would call today for sure. I am so sorry he is not eating and I can understand how upsetting this must be for you. Did you say you have tried baby food, he could sure use some pedialyte. Prayers going out to you.

I'm so sorry to hear Edan's appetite is not returning. How awful for you to have to go through this too. Sending hopes and prayers that you get some answers from the vet and a resolution to Edan's problem.

I am so sorry Eden's appetite hasn't returned. I know how stressful this can be since I went through this for most of last year with Chandler. I am praying your vet can get to the bottom of this.

I can't believe I missed this thread. Poor little Edan. I hope his not wanting to eat has more to do with the throwing up part. Gawd knows I have been there and didn't want to eat afterwards either.

Edan. You need to eat for your Mom. You're freaking her out. Please please eat something. And drink water too. Koji says to just eat ice cubes, its' more fun.

Sending you hugs Sheri to you and the family. I hope to see a good update about Edan tomorrow.

It's alright, Cheryl. You've seen my worried posts, what few there have been, over on Google+, and commented there. The biggest difference between Google+ and here is there is a little more information.

This morning he flat out refused to eat anything. I know he's hungry, you can hear his tummy gurgling. Yesterday he ate a few dried apples but that's about it.

He did drink some milk which, I hope, will coat his stomach a little and stop the stomach acid from causing too much damage.

I tried some 'beef & mixed vegetable' baby food (it was all I could find with beef in it) and some sweet potato baby food (Edan loves sweet potatoes) and he physically recoiled from both.

We are considering trying scrambled eggs tonight when we get home.

If this keeps up, I'm going to pull him out of the August CPE trial. I can't run him in this state, it's dangerous.

At the risk of sounding impolite, perhaps it's time to try another vet. I think I'd be screaming for an MRI at this point.
