Gavin welcomed me home today with

I got him monitored..I live close to work so I can leave if he starts again...Gavin is on the stone floor in front of the door.
I can only guess that he ate some of his first vomit, and that lead to him vomiting again since both vomiting events are about 8-9 hours after ingestion (first one would have been after food/walk/potty and second after the first). All the vet would do is give him fluids and an anti-emetic. I need to keep him hydrated without letting him drink too much at once. So I have a small amount of water in his main water bowl, and a small amount in a secondary bowl in my bathroom. This afternoon once I get home I will be able to let drink small

amounts every hour or so. And then we can move onto food (RC stuff or baby food).
 
It could be that it's just an upset GI. Your right about what the vet would do though. Once their tummy gets upset it can lead to increased acid production which then leads to more vomiting etc etc. Good idea about the pumpkin and chicken. Very easy on the tummy and he's clearly trying to show you he's hungry lol.

I am hoping he gets better soon! Nothing worse than a sheltie not feeling well... makes us so helpless.
He might need sub-Q fluids to keep him hydrated.
let us know how he does...
 
So at noon he went into the bathroom, he just stood there for a good 15 seconds. His head was out of camera view, so I can't tell if he was vomiting or not :( I didn't see any weird body contortions but I thought he vomited then. But no, he vomited in my guest bathroom (no camera),but probably right after so noonish. which is were he goes diarrhea about half them time when he is sick. It was all bile/liquid. And that was the only one. So that is an improvement (there were 3 incidents yesterday afternoon within 2 hours, and 3 last night within a few hours). we had some water and pepcid a/c, and are now sleeping. I am exhausted, so I can only imagine he is too. But really, his behavior isn't too different from last night, or the night before.

Time for a bit more water for him. Gums are a healthy pink. If he has another vomiting episode tonite we will go to vet tomorrow.
 
i am syringing pedialyte into him. he does drink it/lap it up once i squeeze it into the side of his mouth (slowly). hoping fir a quiet nite!
 
I don't know if it's any help, but when I saw my vet with Flurry he said he's seeing tons of dogs recently with gastro issues and runs. Apparently it's some virus that's making the rounds. He said there's nothing you can do except keep them hydrated (which you're doing) and supportive care. I know you're on the other side of the country but I've also seen FB dog friends posting around the country that their dogs have had it. Hopefully it's nothing more than that and Gavin will continue to get better!
 
we made it through the night! he pee’d and had a trendy amount of nasty diarrhoea. now on to food :)

we are due for a vat visit soon anyway. i can ask about pancreatitis then. assuming we are good here on out.

i’m still tired... gonna try and get a nap in :)
