Good ideas for puppy toys

I do remember that toilet paper rolls are a delicacy. My other dogs loved them as puppies.

I'm anxiously waiting for new puppy news. It should be late next week. Then it's 8 weeks until the breeder lets me have one. I'm hoping for a blue eyed bi blue female, but only time will tell what we get. I'm excited and sure we will have a wonderful puppy.

As for it really does depend on the dog. As Jess said, you will need to experiment to find out what works. Bacca's favourite toy when he was young was the hollee-roller. I squeezed in a bell toy between the holes and that was his favourite for a long time. He loved to shake it around

Skineez are good if you your dog tends to dissect stuffies. The others I like are Tuffies.

You must think I'm nuts. I have been picking out and ordering puppy toys for my yet to be born new baby. Amazon is going to love me though.

Trust me, toy shopping is a serious job. No one here will think you're nuts . I have Easter toys for next year already. I had their birthday toys for over 6 months as well. I recommend checking out Petsmart and becoming a petsperk member (it's free, just sign up online and print out your membership) and then go shopping in their clearance bins. I clearance bin dive every time I go to that store. Some great toys are found (including my dogs' favorite)

Indy just LOVES squeaky stuffies. His favourite is lambchop....and frankly has to be one of the biggest sellers in my store.

Hanna loves her sheep squeekie - it's really just a square of woolly fleece with 16 squeekers! The attached head has a rattle in it. I had no idea it would be such a hit. The other toy she loves is called "road kill" it looks like a dead squirrel - the insides are 2 long squeekers and the tail is just floppy, no fill - it is the best tug toy! The ble zebra is pretty popular too, mostly for fetching.

I will need to get at least one or two toys before Brydie arrives, Laddie has his and I don't want to steal them. HMMMM, I have asked Barb what she plays with, so maybe I will get some ideas from her.

Riley loves elk antlers. They can be expensive but ocasionally groupon will have a deal on BuckyBites alk antlers. He also likes a tug toy I made by braiding polar fleece strips.

I use Petsafe Busy Buddy toys for feeding to give him a challenge once in a while. He has the Busy Buddy Kibble Nibble and Busy Buddy Waggle Dog toy.

He also has a lot of squeaky stuffed toys and nylabones. He is not crazy about nylabone.

My dogs have always had fun with a plain old cotton sock with a knot in the middle. If you can get them to play tug with it, it's great for their teeth as well.

Good luck We tried to do the "this is your toy, this is her toy" thing with Ruutu... It doesn't work. In fact, they end up liking the exact same toy and must share it.

I'm not sure if there's really a toy Sully won't play with, though he has his favorites like this fox with no stuffing but has a squeaker (got it at Petsmart), squeaky things in general, the Starmark Bob-a-Lot, and Kongs (even if nothing is in it).

But his absolute favorite toy? Whatever my Westie is playing with.
