Having second thoughts

In Ohio, there are a number of good breeders to choose from. I like Belmark, Bach, and Paragon in Ohio. I've gotten show prospect puppies from Bach and Paragon, and have been very happy with what I've gotten from them. I wouldn't hesitate to get a show pup from Belmark either, as they produce some very nice show dogs. Bach and Belmark have dogs from similar breeding. Paragon has quite a bit from Blue Heaven and Apple Acres. Not only do my dogs from Paragon and Bach do well in conformation, but they also have herding instinct, and the type of trainability and want to please attitudes that I want for agility, obedience, and rally as well (plus I think the little girl from Bach is going to make a heck of a tracking dog).

LOL Barb, my husband did the same thing every time I talked about puppies. It's gotten so that when he sees me looking at pictures of other people's he says NO. :uhoh: He knows they're coming anyway and he loves them tons once they're here. :o How can anyone's heart not melt at a Sheltie???

They are both gorgeous but I'm with Shaun...I just love Ginnie Mae. But you will know which one is truly yours once you meet them. Trust your instincts! :wink2:

Ginnie is the chosen pup. So I sent the photo out to my sister and parents. My dad can't stop laughing. He thinks Ginnie is some ugly! Some people just can't appreciate the beauty of a merle (I know I didn't at first!) Plus, he can't decide if the "sheltie smile" in the picture is a smile or a grimace! Oh well. He doesn't have to love her!

p.s. I may not get her tomorrow after all....seems she got a bath today and the breeder found 3 small bald spots on her leg. She's going to try to get her to the vet first thing tomorrow. Crossing my fingers and toes!

Hooray! I just saw this post, Barb, and I was rooting for Ginnie!! How could you resist that smile?? :biggrin2:

Ginnie Mae is a cute puppy. I'm sure you've made the right choice and hopefully she and Bacca bond well. I'm sure they'll be ok. I look forward to the "tails" of when you bring Ginnie home. :smile2:

I did! Do you know Ginnie? She is a sweet, sweet girl.

Unfortunately, if you've read some of the other posts I've made, I returned Ginnie to Margaret on Sunday. We discussed and decided that Ginnie and Bacca were not a good fit and that she was so very unhappy and probably wouldn't be for a long, long time. Hardest decision I've ever had to make. It broke my heart while I was driving her back. But when I saw her practically race to the front door to get back "home", I knew I'd made the right decision.

So I brought home 9 month old Indy. I don't have his papers yet so I don't know his complete line yet, but like Ginnie, I believe he came from Dury Voe lineage.

Indy's Dad...Just a guess

NO i didnt see that....thats too bad it didnt work out...I LIke Indy though...He is out of Cruz? Im guessing. I could tell it was margaret in the picture :) She is wonderful. I bred to suede (her dog) last year. If he is out of Cruz he is beautiful I got to see him last spring down at Dundee Shelties when he was growing out his coat and entertaining the ladies a bit :) He is a very happy go-lucky type of dog. He came right up to me when I went to see him not shy or reserved at all. It was actually a toss up when I bred to suede to use either him or cruz...I went with the sable to sable breeding...I was chicken

I'm pretty sure he was out of Cruz. But just from the glimpse of the pedigree. Because I don't own Indy outright yet (still on trial), I don't have the full pedigree yet. I do know that he comes from Dury Voe line. That's about all I can tell you.

But Indy is a people dog for sure! He thrives on attention, which of course, has Bacca a little jealous. So spreading my love!

Margaret gave me a fridge magnet with a picture of Suede on it! A gorgeous boy. I understand that she just sold him though. I guess his studding days are over. I think he was only 5 years old. Not sure of the story there.
