I'm a little scared.....

Update

Well after eating well for a solid week, Bacca has gone a little off his food again. He still finishes but only with encouragement.

And his left eye (same side as where he swelled up before) keeps gumming up and looks glazed.

I'm worried about this development.

I'm going to call the vet tomorrow to see what next steps are.

Still crossing fingers and toes.
Thanks again everyone for your care and concern.

We're with you, Barb. Poor little Bacca...he's had a rough go. Please let us know what the vet update is tomorrow. Sending good thoughts, prayers and hugs your way. :o

Thanks Ann

Though I appreciate that he's going through nothing like some others are going through right here and right now.

To everyone out there with a sick pup, I hold out my hand and heart and pray for the best outcomes for us all.

Hugs to all!

I will continue to pray for you and Bacca. I was so hoping that he was gradually getting better. You are going through some tough times, and I wish you the best. (((HUGS)))

I'm sorry to read this about Bacca. I hadn't seen this thread previously. I'm praying for you both. Please keep us posted.

Oh, barb, I'm sorry to hear this, too. I'm another big follower of St. Francis, so my prayers are with you. Let's hope it's just a minor development!

I'm so sorry Barb. Honestly, I feel your pain.

When Sadie had severe diarrhea and vomitting on and off for 6 months, I was so scared and frustrated that I didn't know how I was going to get through it. Even though some others on the forum had sicker dogs, I couldn't help be worried that she had some serious disease or cancer that might end her life. We never did find out what exactly was wrong with her, we put her on a hypoallergenic vet food and she's been fine ever since.

All I can say is hang in there Barb, things WILL get better. Bacca is young and strong, you'll get to the bottom of this and he'll bounce back and be his vibrant self eventually.

You know that all of us at the forum are thinking about you and praying for you and Bacca. As always, feel free to vent, we're all here to listen and comfort you the best that we can.

I hope you get to the bottom of things soon. It sure does sound like he has an absess. Perhaps he was chewing on something like a sharp stick and still has some stuck in the back of his mouth where no one can see it? That would certainly cause the swelling you've mentioned and explain why it keeps coming back even after a round of antibiotics.

Take care Barb and like I said, hang in there!
