Daval Outta My Mind NAJ NF
Yup, this weekend Koji picked up his AKC JWW and FAST titles. I am so proud of him. Honestly, he did really really well Saturday. Not sure what was going on today as he refused a lot of things (seemed very strange). If we had gotten 5 Q's, we would've moved out of Novice completely, however that was a long shot. BUT he did get 4/6 Q's (1 JWW, 2 FAST, 1 STD). I am truly proud of him.
I would say of me too but Saturday was rough for me. I'm not sure why, I think my head just wasn't in the game. I pulled him off-course, not ONLY on the STD course, but ALSO the JWW course
because I forgot where I was going. In my defense, I think it was the way they were handling it at the end of the day, I have no clue if it's normal for AKC or what. But, JWW Open finished up so JWW Novice started to walk. Next thing you know. the STD ring was done. So, we moved over there and since they have priority, we walked it then they were running tall to small (which means I have to wait awhile), then ran it. Then they decided to wait until STD was done to start JWW (tall to small so another long wait). I knew I should've re-walked the course, but I didn't. And I pulled Koji off-course. Sigh. "Great dog, too bad about the handler". That was so true in my case. One great thing, I'll have to post his weaves in STD video. Ohmigod. Talk about super fast!
Today, Koji was refusing everything. The chute, the teeter, the A-frame. Crazy dog. So, we didn't Q his STD run today, and honestly, if he did, he wouldn't have deserved it IMHO. I think I'll stop with FAST. I wanted to give it a whirl but for the money, I think I'll just stick to JWW and STD. Looks like Koji is now moving up to Novice B in STD (I didn't realize you had to do that, lol) and Open for JWW. I also noticed JWW was much more difficult than Novice. All I can say is....bring it on.
Lastly, the one thing I"m noticing with AKC, they like to "intertwine" the course. Where you pass by obstacles you did earlier. In NADAC, we don't really do that too much, nor do you pass through another line twice. I think that's why I got confused with where I was going. Time to work on some more intertwined, nested courses. hehehe.
I will leave you with this photo. It's of Koji and his two "new title" ribbons. The rest were green and blue....but that's because he was the only dog in his category (Novice A, 16"). hehehe.
p.s. he did good on his dog walk contacts, his 4 on is going well, but obviously, it needs a LOT of work (mostly because he didn't quite stop). Time for bed, I have work tomorrow. Yuck. Can't we do agility everyday?
