I forgot to say - I LOVE those rainbow ribbons! The ones I've seen here in Pittsburgh are only Blue and White.

Don't feel to bad about getting lost. I had not done any other venues except AKC but all the courses I've done except one had lines crossing each other and obstacles close to our path. We run lots of excellent courses in class and I often get confused as to where I'm going especially in JWW. Some are very twisting and confusing. I always walk the course as much I am allowed. Heck I am a person who has got lost on a rally course and we are only walking. :lol:

Ember got those same type of Rainbow new title ribbons in Omaha. I thought they were really cool.

Congrats to you and Koji! You've worked so hard to get here and it shows. Just look at where you were last year and you'll be totally amazed at how far you've come. I hope Edan will be able to join Koji with a few AKC titles come mid-September. (We need 1 more leg for both NA and NAJ.) I haven't been able to try FAST yet because only 1 club has offered it and I'm going to a CPE trial instead that weekend.

Do you have things to work on and retrain or improve on; sure, we all do. That's part of the fun of the sport, in my opinion. There is always some new challenge to take on whether its a new course difficulty level or a new skill to learn and add to your arsenal.

When you get out of Novice A for Standard also you do not move into Novice B. You will go right into Open.

I didn't feel too bad on Sunday as I watched my trainer go off-course with her dog. She said she started running the Open course, not the Novice. Oops. We definitely all do it at some point.

Oh yikes. Loop around, several times? Are they crazy? Or just trying to make you dizzy? lol. I guess I need to do a bit more "visualizing". lol. Actually, I do, do that. You'll see me on the side, making motions turning, etc.

Okay. I admit. Rally was easy for me. The instructor said, "I'm impressed, you didn't get lost nor confused once, even with all the circles" and I said, "honestly, it's because I'm not going at mach speed passing the signs, like in agility. These I can read and see before I get there". LOL. Granted, I did get dizzy and lost during the one where you have to around the 3 cones. Rally was like slow motion after running agility. But so much nicer.

I always am afraid to get lost on JWW courses, I mean, it's all jumps. At least on Standard I kinda can remember which main obstacle I'm supposed to be going for. hehehe. Supposed to and Kinda are the main words in that sentence.

And yeah, rainbow ribbons. They're super fun. The MACH ribbons are these deep purple/magenta ones. Kinda ugly IMHO. I need to get a better photo.

Oh no. I didn't mean when I get out of Novice. I meant from today on, I will be running Novice B until I get out of Novice. I know I'll move to open.

You see, this all came from my friend who runs 2 dogs. One of hers moved up to Open JWW. She said to me, "I didn't realize I was supposed to move them both to Novice B." and I said, "huh?" lol.

Ruby got to Open JWW, but is still in Novice STD.
Cobalt was in Novice for both.
But instead of being Novice A, now here dogs were Novice B (except for Ruby in Open JWW).

I know about the rule that if you title you start in Novice B. I didn't realize once you title your dog, or any, you move everything in novice to B now. Just seemed strange, but made sense.

Which means, for my next trial, I need to tell the trial secretary to move Koji around a bit. Novice B for STD and Open for JWW. That's what I was told to do by the club who hosted the trial this weekend.

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

As Silaria said, we always have something to work on and that's part of the sport, so no biggie. But I am so proud of him. I was surprised he got his titles so fast and is moving along in AKC. However, from what I've seen, it looks like they made Novice easy, and Open is much harder. LOL.

Ah agility. I am definitely addicted. Got a ton of trials coming up in Oct-Dec.

NO_You will still be Novice A for Standard then you move rtight into Open. There is no going into B period.

Really?

Couple of questions. Is it because one of her dogs "titled" before the other and that's why she moved them to Novice B? And 2, why would the club tell me that's how it works? (I guess you can't really answer the second question, so disregard that one)

Novice A is for someone that has never shown in AKC or put a title on a dog. Novice B is for someonw that has put an AKC title on a dog.When you get all 3 legs in JWW and Standard then you move into Open. When you get three legs in Open you move into Excellent A and you need three legs each to get out of A and when you get those legs then you move into Excellent B and you need 10 legs each for your MX and MXJ but in the mean time when you are in Ex. B you will start getting your QQ's and points towards your MACH. I have no idea about your club or why your friend would move to B.If you move yourself into B you wont get any titles from AKC as they would have already given you the awards from Novice A.
