Ugh. we're going to have to work on his stay again. he broke almost every single one of them. sigh. You can't tell in most of the videos, but trust me, I'm not late on my turns, etc. It's because dodo brain broke his stay. So frustrating!

Koji looked great. He is going to be an awesome dog when he gets some experience under his belt. Could you send some of his speed Ember's way she only needs about 0.25 yps thanks.:smile2:

I have a random question, I saw that you said in one run that you didn't Q because of too many refusals. What are the rules for refusals in AKC? And NADAC? I'm curious because in USDAA, in Starters and Advanced there are no refusals, but in Masters, one refusal results in an NQ.

In std and jumpers: novice you get 2 refusals/runouts, 2 table faults and 1 wrong course in std only. But you can't lose more than 15 points. So 2 refusals, 1 wrong course and 1 table fault= NQ or 2 refusals and 3 second time fault(2pt per second) =NQ. In open you get 1 refusal/runout , 1 wrong course in std only and 1 table fault, in excellent you need to be clean in A you can have time faults, in ExB no time faults..
 
I can check the rules for NADAC but in novice you can have a lot of refusal and still be clean. I.e. you can refuse the weaves 3 times. they can pass the obstacle too. You just can't do something backwards. You have to be clean to Q but you do have more chances to do obstacles.
 
Nice runs. The distance in Novice FAST wasn't bad at all. The send out to the far entrance of the tunnel was the challenge there, based on what I could see in the video, and you lined him up nicely for that. How many obstacles were in that gamble, 2 or 3?

Talked with three AKC judges Erin Schaefer(my trainer) and two ther people that are AKC judges that are friends and people that I use to train with and got the same answer from all three and to be on the sure side I called AKC and got the same answer. From Novice A you go right into Open and it is your choice to stay in Novice if you choose.

For Novice, there's only 2 obstacles. (Open has 3) Yes, the only hard part was the far end of the tunnel and lining up, but Koji loves tunnels, so I thought for sure we had it. Which of course I shouldn't say, because the first day, he refused the tunnel, but then, I also know I stopped on a dime. LOL. Ah the joys of handling.

Hmmm....is that too much to sacrifice? I can send some speed if Koji picks up more, how's that? lol
